Bot "patch fix"

I disagree with what you've done with your bot with changing a patch of LU55 to Sentinel's Fate. This is not a valid blanket change. Sentinel's Fate is an expansion patch and is only available to those that own said expansion. LU55 patch items are available to anyone who owns the previous content at the time of the patch. Furthermore, precedence here at EQ2i is to have separate categories. Take Category:Rise of Kunark and Category:LU40. It's not the best example, but it does clearly show that the two things are quite different. Furthermore, it's best to discuss large blanket changes like this before running them to avoid situations like this. --lordebon 18:38, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

go for it, but please move the huge table toan own article with /Summary -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 14:51, July 20, 2015 (UTC)
I understand that such a ninja change with my bot isn't the best way, but i made it in the last expansion(s) (manualy) too :/
The point of the update for me isn't the fact that you need the expansion to get these quests but the fact that those changes came with the release of the expansion aka LU55.
In order to get those quests, POI's, nameds and so you need the Expansion the zones got released and not the current expansion yeah but it was a change with the release of the expansion.
An option would be that all quests are LU55, since they got added with that liveupdate, but to get those quests you need the expansion to travel to the new zones, but it would be a little confusing i think.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 19:08, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
It wasn't confusing to me in the past. A patch of LUxx means that it was released as a 'free' update to existing content. A patch with an expansion name means that the content was added in an expansion launch. Thus stuff that was added to TT was LU55 but stuff in SF was Sentinel's Fate. Should we start a forum topic on this to see what we should do going forward? I don't think there ever was an official policy on it, but the whole RoK vs LUxx thing just seemed to be SOP to me. --lordebon 22:30, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
I think your suggestion regarding LU55 vs TT makes sense, Lordebon. AndonSage 00:37, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

I have started to write down a forum post about it, but there many things i try to consider.
I will add a link as soon as i started it. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 12:55, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Prestige AA

Hi, looking through all the AA stuff i found that we miss all the new and shiny Prestige AA (Crafter stuff is missing as well i think). As you did the Heroic stuff so nicely and i think i cant do it, would you maybe take a look at it and take care of the basic setup?--Xinturaia (talk) 13:05, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

It's on my todo list, i want to add the focus effects too that you can pick every 9 levels. i started some time ago with Coercer AAs and i think i gonna add the prestige there too since you can see it ingame in the nearly same way. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 12:51, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
sounds great, thx for the effort. if you need any help with screenshots or else, just let me know. but i need detailed instructions ;) --Xinturaia (talk) 08:38, November 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ornate Crate of Goods

Hi Chillispike!

I finally have over 500 crit chance and was able to pick this up yesterday. I just noticed this stub page (Ornate Crate of Goods) and realized why you made the rename edit on my wikify page. I didn't have time to mess with it since the group was on a short break.

It appears that there are eight zones listed on the stub page with a potential of four drop types (chain, leather, etc) per zone. That's 32 *Ornate Crate of Goods* that would require a zone and type identifier. I'll be happy to refine the stub page if we can come to a consensus on the naming nomenclature.

Do we have to put this up for a vote or how does it work? The way it appears to me, there are two logical ways to name them:

  1. By zone + by type = Ornate Crate of Goods (Nexus Core - Chain)
  2. By type + by zone = Ornate Crate of Goods (Chain - Nexus Core)

and then set up the stub page either by zone:

Nexus Core:

  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Nexus Core - Chain)
  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Nexus Core - Leather)
  • etc...

High Keep:

  • Ornate Crate of Goods (High Keep - Chain)
  • Ornate Crate of Goods (High Keep - Leather)
  • etc...

or by type:

Chain Armor:

  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Chain - Nexus Core)
  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Chain - High Keep)
  • etc...

Leather Armor:

  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Leather - Nexus Core)
  • Ornate Crate of Goods (Leather - High Keep)
  • etc...

How do we proceed? Thanks for your help!! Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 15:48, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

first of all my intention was to make it pop up somehow and i figured that's a good way to don't mess it up to much
If i would be looking after it then i would rather look be type then by Zone
considerung that the Crate of Goods com also from Heroic instance and are Arcane or Potent then it makes it even harder to name them Correctly
I'll try to take a look at the NPC for normal Quests since you can see the name of the Crate there too. as far as i remember the name was something like "Crate of Goods (Cloth)" or so
So maybe we should even think of "Ornate Crate of Goods (Leather) - High Keep Solo" and "Ornate Crate of Goods (Leather) - High Keep"
I would try to take a look at the Heroic ones and define a naming pattern there, so it's easier to find a Naming Pattern for the solo ones.
the good thing is that the DD rewards the same as the normal Mission for the zone
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 15:58, April 28, 2014 (UTC)
Since I'm pretty new to, and unfamiliar with, the Vesspyr Isle zone and instances, I'll defer to your judgement. I like the lead stub page since it can serve as a central location for those crates and all their iterations. I was also unaware of the arcane and potent varieties. That puts a third layer of complexity to the naming.
From my perspective I was going to say that the *obtain* field could be used to distinguish between the solo and heroic instances but that would only be valid if the crates included the same equipment. Are the stats and equipment different between instances?
Do you happen to have a list of the crates, their zones and the itemlinks? If so I could start studying them and assisting in getting this lined out. Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 16:29, April 28, 2014 (UTC)
Yes there is a difference, you can only get Cryptic gear from solo instance (T1), Arcane Gear from the Group Instances within Vesspyr Islands and Potent Gear from the Temple of Veeshan Group Instances.
The crates from the Group Instances are "rather easy" to get looked over, because they don't drop from the last named there you need to pick up a Quest for it at Falinpool, the npc that looks like a wyvern has the normal quests and you can see all the crates each zone there.
I'll try to get a list together, but may takes 3 days till i find the time to do it
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 16:35, April 28, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks much! No worries about time, take ALL you need! I'm currently working on a bunch of RfG and replacement recipe books and each one is taking quite some time with the associated research... I also have plenty to keep me busy for the foreseeable future in the redlinks! Thanks for the info and assistance. Have a great day! Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 18:43, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Hmmm... I went to Falinpol today and picked up quests from Onerind Fe'Dhar (Wyvern - Dungeon missions), Anex (Drakota - Daily missions) and Veehzz the Bloodwing (Droag - Weekly missions) and the only rewards I see are Draconic Etyma. Where can I see the crates as reward items?

EDIT - Sorry! I just found them. I'll start getting a list put together. Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 18:02, May 1, 2014 (UTC)

Armor Crates

Hi Chilli!

I went through the quest givers in Falinpol and found that the quest reward crates are all named Crate of Xxxx Armor (where Xxxx = Chain, Cloth, Leather and Plate). See the list at User:Paceyourself/Sandbox2. The *arcane* and *potent* specifiers aren't named on the actual crate - but only indicate the items contained within.

The crate that started this discussion is an Ornate Crate of Goods which appears to be a drop only item as opposed to being a quest reward...

This is getting confusing. Do you foresee a stub page for the Ornate Crate... drop items and then a separate stub page for the Crate of Xxxx... quest rewards? Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 19:12, May 1, 2014 (UTC)

EDIT - After looking at the differences between the "Ornate" drops and the "Crate of" quest rewards, it appears that the drop crates contain equipment other than armor (runes, bracelets, rings, etc) and the quest rewards are the armor and weapon items. This may make a difference... Paceyourself (sig) (Talk) 19:19, May 1, 2014 (UTC)

Deleting markup text in articles

Hey Chili. A new user, Dmendezthegreat, has been removing markup from tons of monster articles, e.g. A Bloodsaber sentinel. I could've sworn that back a few years ago you asked me not to do that, but I couldn't find the discussion (and I'm not positive it was you and not Lordebon). Also it seems to me like the last time I gave Dmendez advice he was offended, and he wouldn't be the first editor who didn't like advice from a non-admin. So I thought I'd just point you to it and let you deal with it. Jeff (talk·stalk) 07:43, January 12, 2018 (UTC)

Yup you are right about that .. the comments should stay to help editors figuring what should be where. I'll leave him a note -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 09:14, January 12, 2018 (UTC)

monster's additional info

Hey Chillispike, Is there a preferred way to order a monster's additional info? For example: A Sabertooth neophyte has '==Notes==', '==Related Quests==', and '==Factions=='. Which heading should go first, second, etc...? Thanks in advance. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 07:58, January 22, 2018 (UTC)

hmm good question, i would say not really. ain thing kinda is that the monster template is on top, holiday template at the bottum and the other things between.

Antonica Timeline

Hey Chillispike,

Is there a way to remove the old Antonica Timeline Table of Contents with the auto-generated one? The old ToC is really outdated and doesn't display most of the quests involved in the timeline. The auto-generated ToC would show all the information in an easy-to-read fashion. Thanks in advance. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 11:00, January 23, 2018 (UTC)

I changed the Tlinformation and the Antonica Timeline.
There is now a parameter called "hidetemplate", that hides the Timeline Template.
I'll add a category for that as well to keep track of it.

Monster/Named and factions

Hey Chillispike, is there a way to show a named monster or regular monster's faction allegiance in their information box? Example: Captain Duranas - I would like to show that this named belongs to The Great Herd, but I can't figure out the template command (if there is one) to display "The Great Herd" in his information box. Thanks in advance. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 11:51, January 26, 2018 (UTC)

{{faction|The Great Herd|bad|Monster}} shows that killing him gives bad faction with The Great Herd Faction.
That relates nameds/monsters to "that" Faction.
Only NPCs have the faction parameter because they are related to one faction.

Ruins of Varsoon Timeline

Hey Chillispike, on Ruins of Varsoon I can't seem to link The Ruins of Varsoon Timeline under the 'timeline' parameter. In fact, irregardless of what I put there, Ruins of Varsoon Timeline appears when the edit is published - even though there is no page by that name and Ruins of Varsoon Timeline only links to Ruins of Varsoon. Is there a way to change this? Thanks in advance. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 12:08, January 30, 2018 (UTC)

I changed the redirect of Ruins of Varsoon Timeline to the timeline instead of the zone
I guess the Zone is actually called The Ruins of Varsoon right ? In that case, please place the {{ZoneRename|The Ruins of Varsoon}} on top of Ruins of Varsoon. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 13:33, January 30, 2018 (UTC)

Hey Chillispike, I accidentally renamed the zone 'Decrepit Crypt' to it's actual name A decrepit crypt. If it makes any issues I apologize. The former page was pretty undeveloped and I just absentmindedly changed the name as I was editing it. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 20:55, February 13, 2018 (UTC)

ok, np i sort it out. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 13:15, February 14, 2018 (UTC)

Mobs which award AA that begin with 'A' or 'An'

Mobs such as A T'Rethir thinblood Fanatic, and An Untamed Soul aren't named in the classic sense, but they often use capitalization in their name and often award AA. Should they be classified as Named Monsters or Monsters that award AA (i.e. Template:Monster and then Category:Monsters that award AA added manually)? Thanks in advance. Dmendezthegreat (talk) 19:37, March 2, 2018 (UTC)

Named mobs allways drop loot, i guess those ones don't drop loot. In that case add the category for AA manualy. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 19:51, March 3, 2018 (UTC)

Daybreak LLC, new holding company

Chillspike,do you think this needs mentioning or some pages need locking? As a precaution, I made a copy of the DBC LLC page, but it might be good to lock it, or update it to include the new holding comany's name. Subaltern (talk) 00:47, April 26, 2018 (UTC)

I don't lock it right away for now, the good thing of a wiki is allways the history of each article :D
I'll lock if the edits go "out of control" on the article.

Chillibot correction!

The items made via Advanced Weaponsmith Volume 79 (Heirloom) are all saying their made with "Advanced Weaponsmith Volume 79 (Hierloom)" instead. I haven't seen this yet on any other tradeskill recipe scrolls. Nevermind. I'm finding this misspelling all over the place, mostly propagated by Chillibot.
Example: Blessed Hidebound Fistwraps obtain info

Oh .. ooooh upsi, yeah there are quite some with the typo :/ fix incomming. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:12, May 22, 2018 (UTC)
Might want to check your homepage. The misspelling seems to have seeped into there too.
Ejep520 (talk) 20:16, May 22, 2018 (UTC)
The homepage has access to my database to i use to generate the articles.
Misspelling of "Hierloom" got fixed for all items that used it => if you search for "%Hierloom%" you wouldn't find any now.
I'll update the articles soon.

~120 articles renamed from Hierloom to Heirloom, will take care of the rest with the bot. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 21:20, May 22, 2018 (UTC)

Another typo

In light of the LU106 changes, I imagine the last thing you want is more work, but I did find another typo. Your homepage, when it finds attuneable items, is spelling it attunable in the flags. I haven't looked to see if ChilliBot is spreading this typo, but depending on how intertwined the two are, it may be worth a peek.
Take care and keep having fun! -- Ejep520 (talk) 15:49, May 27, 2018 (UTC)

Chillibot is using the same source as my homepage does.
Cloak of the Onayan Battle Mage (attunable lore) for example you mean?
Ok the flag says "attunable" in the census and on eq2.wire as well. Ok ingame it says: attuneable
I guess Attuneable on the us servers as well..
oh well gonna tell e2wire as well then :)
This prolly effects as many items as got changed with LU106 (~ 75% of the 220k) so i'll fix it with the change of the update.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:32, May 28, 2018 (UTC)
Database fixed (Cloak of the Onayan Battle Mage (attuneable lore)) , flag parse fixed and told eq2wire
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:47, May 28, 2018 (UTC)
Let me know if I can make your day any longer. ^.^;
Take care and keep having fun. -- Ejep520 (talk) 22:16, May 28, 2018 (UTC)
I generated all the articles with the corrected typo .. that where like 160.000 items .. way to many to run the bot really :(
So instead i let the template correct the typo. After the update of the items from lu106 (~37700) i'll correct it for new items.
Only new items or new update or items get the typo fix, the old ones will stay old. means in the flags they are attunable but show as Attuneable.

Category for items that give experimentation boosts?

While researching info for the article I wrote on Experimentation yesterday, I discovered that there are several things you can do to boost your experimentation stats. This is analogous to gear that boosts tradeskill stats, but experimentation is its own thing and isn't properly a tradeskill.

I'm thinking we need categories for "gear that boosts experimentation", "gear that boosts tradeskills", and "gear that boosts harvesting skills", but I'm not sure how best to structure these, what to call them, or how to set them up. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 17:26, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

Category:Equipment that modifies skills has Category:Harvesting Skills (Equipment) and Category:Crafting Skills (Equipment) because they got combined to one.
Category:Adorning (Equipment) and Category:Transmuting (Equipment) are there as well but Category:Equipment that modifies tradeskills is the main cat of them.
I guess we can move em over or add them to Category:Equipment that modifies skills as well and make a new category called Category:Experimentation (Equipment)

Problem with EQ2TC credit template

The Credits template for EQ2 Trader's Corner asks you to input the actual page URL you're referencing, but the result displayed ignores that URL and just points to the home page. Thus:

Need some image files renamed

Chilli, can you delete the following for me?

  • Earthen_Avatar_(1)_-_Journeyman.png
  • Earthen_Avatar_II_(12)_-_Apprentice.png
  • Earthen_Avatar_III_(24)_-_Apprentice.png
  • Earthen_Avatar_III_(24)_-_Master.png
  • Earthen_Avatar_IV_(38)_-_Apprentice.png
  • Earthen_Avatar_IV_(38)_-_Adept.png

Also, Template:PetGrades needs to handle png as well as jpg, and since all the pet spells now come in Apprentice, Journeyman, Adept, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, and Ancient, it should handle the additional spell qualities as well.

Another issue: In the Earthen Avatar, Fiery Magician, and Aery Hunter spell pages, although I've added the levels up to max tier in the top of the template, the bottom of the spellbox is not reflecting the higher spell levels, and I dunno why.

Thanks! --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 18:54, August 10, 2018 (UTC)

deleting the images - done
Earthen Avatar line fixed, maxnum 10 was missing
nextup Template:PetGrades, png is no problem
Question: do they really have a different look at each spell grade? I mean at least up to master, ancient ist prolly a different look.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 19:50, August 10, 2018 (UTC)
[Template:PetGrades]] supports now png as well, and the look get tweaked a bit.

is the look of Apprentice and Journeyman equal?
is the look of Adept and Expert equal?
is the look of master equal to grandmaster and/or ancient?

Deklium Band Recipe List

Although the name does not include the word Pristine, the recipe in my Recipe Book is of a Pristine Deklium Band.

Hallo, Chillispike. I was looking through the pages for information and came across this outdated information page for Pristine Deklium Band as seen below in the comparison. I'm sure there are many more pages like this that need to be updated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JonaHexx (talkcontribs)

the Recipe name and the resulting can be different. i look into it. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 13:37, August 25, 2018 (UTC)
When you look at Jeweler Essentials Volume 78 you see the recipe name "pristine deklium band" that links to the the crafted version of the item Deklium Band (Crafted)
There is also a merchant version of the item deklium band (Version 2)
Many items are no longer called Pristine, but some still are.
To sort out things like that, a update of the crafting books are needed as well, which is prolly the best source for it.
My Program to parse the items uses a database, based on the census information and compiles the informations to articles.
The crafted items i follow Recipe book -> Recipe -> Item.
Considering the pristine deklium band it simply got renamed to Deklium Band => to solve it, change the article pristine deklium band to a redirect to Deklium Band (Crafted) like: #redirect[[Deklium Band (Crafted)]]

double item name

Hi Chilli, It's been a while since I last contacted you ... but I have been quite busy here, and now have something that I need assistance with, as I'm not sure of the naming policy:

  • There are at least 2 versions of Ritualistic Cazicite Shield I've come across so far. The difference is in the Effects: one casts Silver Conflagration I (I uploaded the exam wndw for this last month), the other casts Illumination I. I have a scrnsht of this 2nd version ready to upload, but we need to decide how to include both versions in the Wikia database.

I just checked my itemdatabase for wiki items which is based on census information.
There is just 1 Version of that item called Ritualistic Cazicite Shield known, well according to census.
The difference comes from the yellow adorn in the weapon! which is in this case either the Silver Conflagration I or the Illumination I.
I think you see the item alone in the examine window when you hover over the icon of the item, or when you use the itemlink of the item without "modifications".
\aITEM -792752732 -1468701476 0 0 0 2 -1145919493:Ritualistic Cazicite Shield\/a - the first 2 numbers are the item, the other numbers are the "modifications"
\aITEM -792752732 -1468701476:Ritualistic Cazicite Shield\/a - Itemlink without "modifications"
"modifications" = Adornments in the item, infused with plat, infused with items or reforged stats
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 18:26, September 11, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks Chilli,
Bah ... I never considered the yellow adorns ... ofc you're right. So really I need to replace that exam wndw with a version minus the yellow adorn, and maybe add a note to say that the item is also available with at least 2 known adorns, etc ... What do you think?
--Maladryn (talk) 21:15, September 11, 2018 (UTC)

2 equal items?

Hi Chilli,
Take a look at Elementalist's Lavastorm Boulder and Elementalist's Lavastorm Stone.
Hmmmmm ... they look kind of same to me ...
Maladryn (talk) 15:16, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

Hmm can be, but both are known on census.  :/ -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 17:50, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

Well, if you're ok with it ... then that's fine. I just thought I should draw your attention to it.
Maladryn (talk) 18:39, September 23, 2018 (UTC)

np to ask me things like that :)
If the item is known on census it's defo ok, even if the item "got removed" or is nolonger obtainable.
If it's on census then eq2 still knows about it, maybe explains why my bot is adding items that got removed from game or that are no longer obtain able.

2 questions

Chilli, There's a couple of issues I need to take up with you:

  1. Please take another look at Merinep's Salvation. You've added some altname?? and now it does not look right ...
  2. Regarding True North one of the amendments you made involved switching the order of class: I had originally entered AllWarriorCats followed by AllCrusaderCats and all you did was to switch the order?? Why? In my opinion that was a completely pointless exercsie!

Maladryn (talk) 18:10, September 26, 2018 (UTC)

I was about to post on your talkpage about the 2 changes
  1. The "Merinep's Salvation" is actually called " Merinep's Salvation", with a leading blank in the name. When you look for the item without the leading blank on census, it doesn't find any item. the altname with the "_" as prefix is a workaround to create the links to external sites correctly. The "_" was easier for me to use, then to create a parameter for it. A glass of faydark chai for example has a blank at the end, that why it uses the altname.
  2. about the True North: primary and secondary items of level 100+ have cyan adorns and not green adorns, it ain't had a itemlink and no iconnum (but the correct icon). that was the reason to update it with the census parsed version.
I know that the order of flags and classes is a bit off, but the flags classes are parsed correctly in terms of what should be there. It's just a quite big amount of code needed to sort em correctly. The thing is i added over 150.000 items allready, where the order is "maybe" off :(. I didn't wanted to annoy you with that at all, sorry. For the classes i currently follow the order
  1. all classes
  2. Fighter -> Priest -> Scout -> Mage
  3. Crusader -> Paladin or SK; Warrior -> Guardian or Berserker; and so on
Sadly i never found a breakdown of all combinations of classes, that never changes ingame as well. The prolly best approach would be changeing the template to make the sorting of the classes, that way it would be "easier" to adjust when/if it changes ingame or got written in other order in the parameter.
The "advantage" of the census parse is to know every item and every item change, based on the census information. (accessable by my homepage, which means everyone could use the preparsed information instead of filling the article out manually)
My goal with the bot is to add and update every item known from census to eq2.wikia, that way it would be possible to just link the rewards of the quests. Just the huge amount of items make it time consuming.

Chaos Descending Shinies are Green

I don't know why, but Chaos Descending collection shinies are green, so Template:CQuestInformation needs an update, I guess. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 22:38, October 13, 2018 (UTC)

from what i saw in the preview live chat they have 4 different colors as normal shinies, which depents on the Plane they are in actually. fire = red, water = blue, earth = green and wind = white.
Prolly could do em by the plane, like "normal fire", "normal water", "normal earth", "normal wind".
So would need a screen shot of a shiny from each plane :/
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 13:41, October 14, 2018 (UTC)
I'll see about getting screenshots at the same size and ratio as the regular yellow shinies, then. I'll post back here when they're available. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 20:36, October 14, 2018 (UTC)
Today I was able to get a good look at the various zones.
I didn't realize until I'd logged out that the yellow shiny pic is a GIF animation, so tomorrow I will get enough screenshots of each to do a similar GIF. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 07:14, October 16, 2018 (UTC)
thanks for checking, it is not big problem if the images are not animated gifs. We sill can use a jpg or png to start with and replace it later with a gif. Main part is that pictures are there i think :) -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 14:08, October 16, 2018 (UTC)
Here are the four elements. I still need to go back and get Disease.
Air shiny Earth shiny Fire shiny Water shiny Disease shiny
--Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 20:05, October 19, 2018 (UTC)
I have all five new shinies uploaded, as shown above, so if you will let me know when the template is fixed, I can go back in and update the CD shinies to use the right image. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 03:11, October 23, 2018 (UTC)

Need Subcategories for Exploration Achievements

We apparently need the Exploration Achievement Template modified, it isn't recognizing the release name as a valid subcategory. I'd think it should see the name there, and create one of those blue message boxes at the top asking you to click the redlink and paste the listed text in, then publish. For ex: Get out of the Kitchen. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 20:35, October 14, 2018 (UTC)

works now, i updated Template:NormalizeAchievementSubcat -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:49, October 14, 2018 (UTC)

Planar Stones

I'm not sure what to do with Planar Stones (Chaos Descending).

Planar Stones (Chaos Descending)

As you can see from the Examine window, the name is "Planar Stones", but there's an identically named item from PoP and I need to disambiguate. Is it okay like this? --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 05:19, October 17, 2018 (UTC)

Yes of course it's ok to disambig.
I would rename Planar Stones to Planar Stones (Planes of Prophecy) and change the Planar Stones to a disambig page. I'll do the same in my database to update related items as well.

Collection Obtain Template Help

The Template:CQuestReward needs to allow aliasing, for instance, I want to use {{CQuestReward|Fetid Flesh Wristband (Collection)|Fetid Flesh Wristband}}, but here's how it displays:

Reward from the collection quest, Fetid Flesh Wristband (Collection).

--Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 03:38, October 23, 2018 (UTC)

I see what you mean, i will change the template "soon".

Problem with primeattri

In the {{EquipInformation}} template documentation, I see primattri is supposed to be used for primary attributes. However, it's not showing a value. For example:

What is the correct usage? --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 04:29, October 23, 2018 (UTC)

I added the "primattri" before the change of the items went live. :/
Best use is to use the following rule the template follows: agi over int over wis over str to show Primary Attributes. Reason the Primary Attributes are not shown as such on census
so "best" is to use just agi because int, wis and str get ignored anyway by the template then. My bot uses the census info so for example just int but no wis, no str and no agi when it's listed as such there.
fixed the Template:EquipInformation to call and show "primattri" correctly.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 18:20, October 23, 2018 (UTC)

Crossbow Equipment Item

I'm sorry I'm being such a pest. I just created Heavy Crossbow of Unlimited Knowledge. I used the drop-down template for a ranged weapon, and dutifully filled in everything. The wtype has no option for Crossbow, and none of the damage, delay, or range info is showing up unless I put Bow in there. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 02:44, October 24, 2018 (UTC)

No Problem :)
Use "Aim" as wtype, like Ruby Heartwood Crossbow or others from Aim (Weapon Type)
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 09:42, October 24, 2018 (UTC)

Some Incorrect Redirects

I've noticed some incorrect redirects for collection rewards that are themselves shinies. For example Club of Slime is the collection piece for the meta-collection, but it redirects to Club of Slime (Collection). I'm not sure how to fix this. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 20:47, October 27, 2018 (UTC)

I changed Club of Slime to a disambig page
How to edit a redirect article: When you go redirect page like Balanced Synergy (Ancient) you see get redirected to Balanced Synergy below the title you see Redirected from Balanced Synergy (Ancient) -> click on that link you are on the redirect page.
Ways that can be done when moving an article:
  1. Way1 (the way i do it often)
    1. open the article you want to move in 2 tabs of you browser.
    2. Move the article in tab1 and create a redirect
    3. go to tab2 (where you still see the article before the move) and just click edit or press "e" to and *tada* you edit the redirect page directly
  2. Way2
    1. open the article you want to move
    2. "uncheck" the redirect option then move it
    3. the old article is "gone" then and you can recreate it
How i can/could/should/would sort it on the long run
I can create disambig pages automatically for spells, items, quests, collection and achievements with my bot since i "know" em all.
So once i finally managed to add all items and collections with the census information i can start to create/check all the disambig articles that are needed (currently 18.000) and change the redirect to disambig that way.

Vizzeren's Arcanum Vision Elixir

Hi Chilli,
I've just uploaded an exam window to Vizzeren's Arcanum Vision Elixir, but there's something not right ...??
I think there may be 2 different versions of this, as it is linked to quests: Under the Veil and Family Ties.
In both cases, it is a quest item received from Vizzeren during the course of each quest.
Would you look into this please, when you have a moment, and see what you think ...
Thanks Maladryn (talk) 09:22, November 9, 2018 (UTC)

There are 3 Different Versions of the Vizzeren's Arcanum Vision Elixir

Steady Phantom Chain Forearms

Hi Chilli
Please take a look at Steady Phantom Chain Forearms. It needs a disambiguation, but I don't know how to create the page. There are 2 versions of the item (might be more in the future): One with 3 gems and one with 0 gems.
Maladryn (talk) 15:30, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

Steady Phantom Chain Forearms is now a disambugation article, the 0 gem one got moved and i added the other Versions of the item.
Any Armor that can be gemmed has mutliple versions, so the best is to start with the disambugation actually.
If you need articles like that, just gimmi the name of the item and upload the versions of it.

Great ... thanks!
Maladryn (talk) 16:48, November 26, 2018 (UTC)

Hello again
I have another disambiguation article: Augur's Chain Bracers of Celerity, but this time I've used Steady Phantom Chain Forearms as an example, and tried to follow that. I prefer to create/amend items I've actually seen in-game so have only created the one I've recently seen as a drop with 0 gems. Have a look and check if it's all OK.
Also, I don't want to be bothering you with every little problem I come across, so prefer to do it myself if can. I'm sure you have enough on your plate already
Maladryn (talk) 11:19, November 27, 2018 (UTC)
The item does say 0/4 gems, so that means kinda that is a 0gem, 1gem, 2gem, 3gem and 4 gem version of it.
I use the census database to create items :) means i can create items "without" seeing them. The census database knows every item that is known ingame and when a item get's updated then it get's updated ingame and on the database. (eq2u uses the same data source btw).
Actually there is a way to find all the items =)
visit my homepage and search for "Augur's Chain Bracers of Celerity", then you see a list of all the items i prepared and the names i have set them too.
When you click on "View Item" you get the preparsed Version of the item that you can copy/paste to the wiki article.

New Equipment Infusing Page

I spent today pulling together a new page, Equipment Infusing. I think it needs to link to more pages/categories, but darn if I can think of where it should link. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 02:24, December 27, 2018 (UTC)

I added all the infusers there where red links (If the item is known on census) and updated the others. I also changed the dash to " - " similar look but easier to edit.
If you want i can parse through the items to find all the infusers
May we add subtypes for it?

Chaos Descending Armor Sets

Mermut helpfully described the CD armor sets. I started to set up shell Armor Set pages for these, but thought I'd better let you check Census for the individual pieces before I did. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 18:58, January 8, 2019 (UTC)

As it goes for items from census .. i check which ones are new or updated and upload/update them with my bot roughly every 1-2 weeks.
As far as i can tell, not one of the Chaos Descending Armor is linked to an Armor Set on census.
Means wearing multiple pieces of the Armor doesn't give any bonus as well, which seems to be correct from what i've seen so far.
The patterns that drop are called Scaltscale and shows 60 Resolve Armor but you actually get a Kedge Piece of Armor with 65 Resolve. So you don't get the linked item of the pattern you get a better one actually.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:06, January 8, 2019 (UTC)
I decided instead to create a page, Chaos Descending Armor Patterns. It puts the info about armor sets in an easy-to-reference format. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 22:43, January 11, 2019 (UTC)

Mercenary Info from Dellmon

A few weeks ago, Dellmon mentioned that he had a Powershell script that would extract all the Mercenaries from census and dump their stats into some format (CSV, XLS, HTML, etc.) I've asked if he'd be willing to drop the values into a CSV or XLS and send that to me, then I can come up with some good way to present that data meaningfully on the wiki, so that people can view mercs in an "apples-to-apples" comparison.

If he can't or won't do it that way, would you be able to get with Dellmon and get that Powershell script? I have never used Powershell, so I'm clueless here. I know a little SQL, but it's literally been a decade since the last time I did. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 19:42, January 8, 2019 (UTC)

I learned quite some about SQL so far with my Program hehe
If i would know where to look then i could enhance my program to gather all the Merc info as well, so far i ain't had the time to look into that as well .. (Stil missing quite a huge amount of items from census in the wiki)
So far i ain't looked into the Char area of Census because it didn't have big benefit for the wiki (Player info is way more dynamic and needs a dynmic website like
I can contact him and take alook into it, to see what i can/could do to gather the merc info's
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:13, January 8, 2019 (UTC)
Cool! That's going to be the best way to put up meaningful merc info. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 20:29, January 9, 2019 (UTC)

Dellmon send me his script and i started to analyse the data from census, which is a bit complicated.

  1. There are Merc count 450309 mercenary known in the census db, because the information is stored for each merc of each player including the Gear the reforge
  2. The values of merc with the same name are all over the place :(
  3. There seems to be no information about the merc level (1 to 20)
  4. The owner id is there, that means it would be possible catch the player level and find merc with the same player level at least
  5. the first 100 mercs sorted by name and base stamina which is " Va'Vex Shadowheart"
  6. it's a bit hard to say which one to take to generate the Merc stats for the wiki

-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 21:58, January 10, 2019 (UTC)

Well, that's disappointing! Cyreena is pulling the data one merc at a time, with a naked baby toon and no armor etc. I built her an Excel table. Once I get enough mercs to be able to meaningfully group them, I'll get a comparison page structured. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 22:46, January 11, 2019 (UTC)
Dellmon's scrit gathers the merc's of 1 char and generates 4 output files. That works really great i must say. Building the info of my merc's took like 1 minute or so.
I'm not sure how much the merc'are changing beween level 1 and level 110, it is possible that some get a higher boost then others :/
What i can do rather easy is to do the basic articles for the mercs with name, race and class because that is allways the same for each merc, the stats are is really hard.
I could gather all merc info + all chars from census -> parse trough all of them of the mercs that have a level 110 char as owner -> then take the lowest merc stats to display the information. But that is quite some work to code it :(
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:14, January 11, 2019 (UTC)

Need some table help

I just overhauled the Chaos Descending Collection Timeline. I started in Excel and worked backwards from the final collection. I double-checked collection pieces origins from crowd-sourced loot data in EQ2U to be sure I was correct in where they were found. Next, I corrected the text-and-bullet-point entries on the page.

Finally, using my Excel table (available on Dropbox at as a reference, I built a wikitable and wrapped it in a collapse.

I have a couple of problems: (1) the collapse bar and the rtoc are colliding, and (2) the very last line of the table should have Vegarlson Mallet lined up in the third column, and I don't see where my error is. When you have a chance, would you take a look, please? Thanks! --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 22:41, January 11, 2019 (UTC)

I changed the way to hide and show it by using a collapseable wiki table
The rawspawn was wrong on 2 raws, i changed them -> the diff
I changed Algea Covered Staff .. coz i though i was right about it lol, but it seems they renamed collection now from "Algea Covered Staff" to "Algae Covered Staff". I'll fix it (and the related collection items and rewards and so on)
The Expert collections (the ones that are currently not linked) seem to be wrong considering that all collections are on census, they are no expert collections just the "no-trade" Collection item that is needed in some collections.
for example Detroxxulous Greatstaff is no-trade collection item and needed for the collection: Disease-Runed Greatstaff
Exquisite Phoenix Feather Boots (Collection) has no collection item from other collections, but the reward is needed Exquisite Puresteel Wraps (Collection) listed correctly
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:52, January 11, 2019 (UTC)
Algea Covered Staff renamed to Algae Covered Staff (Collection), i'll fix the related items with the next bot run.

Thanks! I fixed the expert collections. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 03:26, January 12, 2019 (UTC)
An Idea for Meta Collections: I could add something to the template .. when the Collection type is Meta and no "czone" or "czones" are there, then i surpress the collection zone and show instead "This collection is not bound to a single zone, please look at the Collections are related to this one for the collection zones" .. or something like that.

Mercenary Data, Revisited

With the extensive help of Cyrrena and Chiffon from the Forums, we've begin data collection on all mercenaries. After some initial thrashing about, it seems best to evaluate the mercs while chronomentored to level 5, with the toon and the merc stripped of all gear. We're assembling the data in an Excel file on Dropbox.

As far as we can tell, most merc stats are pretty similar across the board. Training does nothing to the stats, it just opens equipment slots.

The big differences are in the spells that each merc has. Most mercs have Master-quality spells, while just a few have Grandmasters. Also, at level 110, some mercs have 2-3 more spells than they do at level 5... and they sometimes LOSE spells (Kenny loses his Cure at 110 for some reason!) It's also possible that the mercs have spells that are just not visible in the UI for some reason, but which Census might be able to "see".

So, I wanted to ask if it is possible, via scripting, to pull certain data from Census, now that I know more about what we're looking for:

  1. Pull stats and all spell names for each unique merc that is currently at level 5 and has no combat equipment.
  2. Pull stats and all spell names for each unique merc that is currently at level 110 and has no combat equipment.
  3. Failing that, can we get the list of spell names for each unique merc, ideally at both level 5 and level 110?

I'm starting to think ahead as to how best to present this data on the wiki. I'm definitely going to post the stats for each merc on that merc's page.

What I'd really like to do is to be able to present all the mercs in a big table, with the ability to click a checkbox for either two or three mercs, then click a "Compare" button to open a window showing those three mercs' stats side-by-side. This is more scripting than I'm probably able to do. What are your thoughts about something like this?

Last question: Mercenary spells aren't necessarily the same as regular spells used by players. Sometimes they're identical, but have a unique name (Raffik, for instance). I'd like to be able to give the spell details for each merc spell on its own spell page, but I wanted to check with you and see how you thought this might be best handled.

--Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 19:17, January 21, 2019 (UTC)

Short and sad answer: census doesn't show all that kind of data :/
for example Merc called "Field Marshal Vishra" as xml or Merc called "Field Marshal Vishra" (owner id leads to the owner but no merc info there either :(
  • equipment item are there the one i linked doesn't have any gear equipped
  • stats are there
  • no spell info of the merc no spell id, spell name or anything similar
  • no level info of the merc
  • in order to gather the stats it would be needed to take a "snapshot" at the right moment :/ means chrono mentor to 5 zone or log out. Gather the data and repeat to the next merc :/
I also checked the npc section on census but the merc are not there as npc, but the spell data is there for npc's but nearly no stats or level like Sparrow Cogcarrier
Overall it seems like that the only way to gather that kind of data can be done manually :(
I can pull the stats of the merc as a snapshot kinda, since the stats "prolly" update when you return to level 110 even the merc isn't summoned. haven't checked it but i fear it is like that.
example link for all the mercs of a char called "Bonekeeper" (I think it is your alt)

discussion note on a Down Below quest

I'd like to add a discussion note on a Down Below quest, but I can't find the button to add a talk page. Will you please let me know how to do that? Thanks. Sabershadowkat (talk) 22:38, January 24, 2019 (UTC)

I guess you mean the "NOTE: A discussion page exists which may contain more information"
That shows up when there is "something" on the talkpage of the article. next to the "edit" is a pull down menu and one of the options there "Talk (#)". click on that start a discussion/ the talk page then it will show up that line on the quest page as well.

From my understanding of the questline they were seperated a long time ago and thus they change quite considerably from their Koada'Dal brethren.
If you'd agree we'd need a new Race Category for them, but I sadly couldn't find any in-game book or article about them.
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 17:37, February 8, 2019 (UTC)

I think i checked some of em ingame with "/say %r" and they where high elfs. Even if they seperated a long time ago, they are still High Elfs or let's say mostly High Elf after all.
We could make them as a own race, but there "main" race still has to be High Elf.
Like erm .. Bone Golems, Jade Golems or Clay Golems are still Golems after all
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 18:44, February 8, 2019 (UTC)
Ahh ok, thanks for that info, I guess then I'll tag them as high elf on eq2map as well.
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 18:58, February 8, 2019 (UTC)
Happy to help :)
On questions like that there is one thing that pops to my mind everytime .. “When I see a bird that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck.” :D

Mercenary Stat Comparisons Page

Howdy! I have a few hundred more mercs to add, and I'm actively editing at the moment. I'll comment out the link from the Mercenaries page until I am done. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 23:38, February 9, 2019 (UTC)

Please place the {{Wip|Sigrdrifa}} on top of the article while you edit lots on it. (Just add and remove the tag when needed) -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 00:20, February 10, 2019 (UTC)
I could not rememberthat tag to save my life. I knew there was one, but not the syntax. I'm done with it for now. Cyrrena and I are still gathering stats as we can. I'm really dubious about Dok-Tok's statsa, I think that had to be recorded wrong, so we're double checking. Otherwise, there's a lot if useful data there that people can see now. --Sigrdrifa (sig) (Talk) 03:24, February 10, 2019 (UTC)

Zone vs Instance

I'm pretty sure that the new hub The Chronoweave is a zone as it allows anyone to zone in at anytime and meet up grouped or not and it only has 1 instance (unless its too crowded), hence I created it as zone.
However I'm less sure how to handle the Public Quest instance Portal to the Past: Southern Desert of Ro [Public Quest], while it is an open zone for everyone grouped or not I believe its also instanced as it blocks a character who has recently participated form entering a new instance. Please create the page as the appropriate type and I or others will flesh it out. Thanks!
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 11:58, February 28, 2019 (UTC)

The Chronoweave is a zone yeah ... but LU109 not GU109 (Live Update instead of Game Update)
Hmm the PQ Instance has to up to enter it normaly and actually they do have a lockout i think.
Let's say PQ is up for 1hour ... you enter the first PQ and finish it in 15mins .. then you left the zone .. and the third Version of it starts .. can you enter it ? As far as i know you can't because you are "locked out"
Since the PQ instance is not allways up, i would call it an instance.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 12:46, February 28, 2019 (UTC)
Also technically LU109 will drop in 2 weeks but I thought it makes more sense than referring to CD, or is there a way to reference smaller updates? As for the instancing yeah makes sense to me, was just confused by the public aspect of it so could have seen it justified in both ways :-)
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 14:09, February 28, 2019 (UTC)
When it's a "bigger" small update .. You can refer to the Update like Update 2015.06.23 for example The Fabled Acadechism (Heroic)
I don't make a own category for each update of the game (the weekly patches) but can be done if needed in situations like this one. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 17:11, February 28, 2019 (UTC)

Seeing thinking doing .. since it's not patch related but Live Event related i linked it to "Chronoportal Phenomenon" as patch/intruduced. Well for now at least maybe not perfect way to do it but i think it makes sence -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:01, February 28, 2019 (UTC)

Trap Time

Excuse me Please:

regarding the time limit for Changes: Mischief Managed: Duty and the Beast traps; the time has been seemingly changed from what was a Norrathian day (~42m) to now 72 minutes (1hr 12m). This is correct, I just had reread the #tradeskills channel on discord and added a comment to the same effect on the corresponding talk page Talk:Mischief Managed: Duty and the Beast including the quotes made by Gninja verifying this. Due to this I have undone your edit Chilli :-)

It came up coz it got changed back and forth in the article by various ppl without any note, anything in the history nor anything in the patch notes. It's hard to confirm a change like that, without any prove of facts.

Malusia NPC

Hi Chilli,
I've created a 2nd version of Malusia, who relocates from her starting place above the Mhyst River to Khali'Yrzu. However, I'm unable to create a disambiguation page, as I'm getting a circular reference. Note I renamed the original Malusia to Malusia (Myhst River) and the 2nd version to Malusia (Khali'Yrzu) Thanks ...
Maladryn (talk) 11:35, June 30, 2019 (UTC)

When you click on Malusia you get automatically redirected to Malusia (Myhst River), but you will see a small link below the article title that says: Redirected from Malusia.
That link only shows up when you clicked on Malusia in the first place, when you go directly to Malusia (Myhst River) it doesn't show up.
When you click on that link you are actually on the Malusia article without getting redirected, and then you change it to a disambig article.
I haven't done the change for that article yet you can see when i mean.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 14:41, June 30, 2019 (UTC)

Yes, that's what I mean ... I get a circular reference that takes me back to the same version of Malusia every time, that is Malusia (Myhst River). What I was trying to do was to create a disambiguation, so that I could choose whichever version of Malusia I needed. In much the same way as NPC Waulon Highpebble.

i went to and changed it to disambig. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 18:34, June 30, 2019 (UTC)

Log in Problems

Hi Chilli,
Is there a problem with the EQ2i system? Starting today, I keep getting logged out each time I access a new page! Is this a recent known problem? Has anyone else experienced this?
Maladryn (talk) 19:50, July 15, 2019 (UTC)

I noticed that i couldn't log in during the day .. just checked it know and it seems to work ok again.
Jr Mime is prolly the best contact we have for fandom related things like this.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 21:46, July 15, 2019 (UTC)

FYI I came to the conclusion that there may have been some conflict between my Firefox browser and the AVG antivirus software. However I was unable to resolve the problem, and decided to use Microsoft's restore which was to take me back to 08/07/19. This was a BIG mistake on my part, and eventually resulted in my re-installing Windows 10! So take heed ... I know you use Firefox, so maybe you had a similar glitch ... ? be careful ...
Maladryn (talk) 14:29, July 16, 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the info, so far Firefox works fine for me on various PC's.
When the login doesn't seem to work i try it normaly with iexplore, edge or chrome or on my Mobile. It happend once a twice in the last 3-4 years (that i can remember atleast) that the login didn't work in any way for half a day roughly, after wards it was all ok again.
A windows restore hardly would fix it, since it's prolly either a server or a cookie problem. That's why i test it with a other browser normaly since they use other cookies.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 18:44, July 16, 2019 (UTC)

Hi again,
I've been using your database: my database for some time, and found it really useful, but over the last week or so, I've been unable to access it. What's gone wrong?
Maladryn (talk) 18:36, July 18, 2019 (UTC)

The database does a daily backup where it's down for like 3mins and sometimes i do updates and other things where it can be down for like 10mins. Mostly it should be up and reachable.
When i catch new items it need some time to check for double names before i actually parse the items, so it can take a while depenting on how much changed or got added to the game. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:34, July 20, 2019 (UTC)

OK ... but I can't access it at all!
Has the URL changed? I'm getting a timed out message every time.
Try using the link I included above, and see what result you get ...
Alternatively, would you please provide me with a new link ...
Maladryn (talk) 08:07, July 21, 2019 (UTC)

Nope the URL is still the same, i just checked it and i can access it over my mobile as well ... but wait ... ah i see some when i try the link, it doesn't work because it trys to open the site as https instead of http.
Somehow wiki allways adds the "s" no matter if it's in the posted link or not. :(
When you open the page without the "s" in the link it works fine.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 16:59, July 21, 2019 (UTC)
https should now work as well :) -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 20:41, July 21, 2019 (UTC)

WHOO HOO ... it now works! Thanks for your help, Chilli
Maladryn (talk) 21:24, July 21, 2019 (UTC)

Hi Chilli,
Can you clarify something for me. When adding obtain details for an item, what do we use as the location? Do we name the zone or the instance? For example, Wailing Caves OR Commonlands? I've always understood that we name the zone rather than the instance within that zone.
Maladryn (talk) 15:51, August 20, 2019 (UTC)

Not sure if i understand the question .. or rather .. do you any specific item in mind?
If an item drops in Wailing Caves and in Commonlands it should be related to both of em.
If it's only in Waling Caves then it should be related to Wailing Caves. .. If it's only from skellis in Wailing Caves then it be related to them in the Wailing Caves.
Other wise ppl would search Commonlands for an item that can't be found there at all.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 22:19, August 20, 2019 (UTC)

LU111 Stuff

Heya Chilli, could you do some cleanup of LU111?
Namely add Category:LU111 and update the item census data for LU 111?
Also if you have time could you redirect Celestial watch ceremonial (Armor Set) or Celestial Watch Ceremonial (Armor Set) as I'm unsure which one is correct.
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 16:32, September 7, 2019 (UTC)

Yeah will do, just need to look which update was LU110 as well .. since last one before listed is LU109.
For census data yeah i know i'm behind but i need to sort out 480 items with double names :/
Sorted out the armor set, since the items are in lower case i picked the lowercase items as well
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 23:19, September 7, 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, glad you're on it even though the census update sounds stressful.
Update 111 links: [1] [2]
Update 110 is a bit more difficult since it wasn't named officially as that, but I guess they meant this one: [3] [4]
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 23:50, September 7, 2019 (UTC)

Dealing with titles of named monsters

Heya Chilli,
I double checked [5], but the only thing pertending to titles is the following quote:
"Named monster articles should exactly match the name of the monster that appears in game over the monster's head"
Lets take a good example mob and how it should be named on wiki and how it should be displayed on wiki:
Telrisa, of the Trees with the under name title of <Arborian Princess> (I used the html codes & lt; and & gt; for the signage).
It is my understanding that the wikipage name should be Telrisa, of the Trees and not Telrisa (hence I made a new page and created a redirect when I saw this being created today). So including the title , of the Trees as it is part of the name over the monsters head. However the braced title (in < >) should to the best of my knowledge not be included in the name. On Telrisa and a few others I added those by using altname using lt; and gt; . I think ideal would be an additional field in the Template:NamedInformation for the titles between < > so noone has to deal with using the html codes for < > while preserving to show those titles as well. If/when that is done both the naming policy article and the Named template doc should be clearified in that regard as I found 2 negative examples which I used adminneeded on:

Would love to hear your take on how to handle this und Dank im Voraus.
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 16:29, September 8, 2019 (UTC)

Quite some NPC have a "," part in the name and the text within the <> is let's say purpose suffix title
The name of an npc is the part that is in the logs as well
Targeting them directly and taking the name from the target window works mostly with "shorter" names quite good
best way to check that is to hail, attack or kill em.
Like when you hail "Telrisa, of the Trees": you will get You say, "Hail, Telrisa, of the Trees" in the chat and the logs. => Her name is "Telrisa, of the Trees"
Also that name works when ..
  • you wanna target it/him/her by keyboard. Means "/Target Telrisa, of the Trees" will work but "/target Telrisa, of the Trees <Arborian Princess>" wouldn't work.
  • you wanna ask a guard to find the npc
I could add the title of the npc/monsters/named monsters to the template.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 17:23, September 8, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah makes sense and good to check the log, but its basically as I thought.
And yes adding a title field to those templates would be nice, for NPCs it could default to whatever is written in the purpose field so you'd have to only fill it out if it differs.
On this note I remember you asked me to not move pages myself but to alert you to it. Is there a process on what should be done before a move so I could take that off your hands?
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 17:35, September 8, 2019 (UTC)
moving zones and instances is a bit tricky, due all the related categories that need to be cleared up. please use the ZoneRename template for that :)
NPC's and items are ok, in the worst cast i have a different item name i my database then it's on the wiki.
Images can be moved by some ppl as well.
In case you are unsure place the rename template on the article and i can move it
What normaly stays behind after the move is the check of "what links here" and updating the links in all the related articles to the new name
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 17:43, September 8, 2019 (UTC)

Ahh that was in regards to zone moves and yeah I can see with all the cats that that might by an issue. If that should occur again I'll use ZoneRename as requested.
To lighten your load I have sorted out the Halcyon and Captain Tzzz messes (including fixing links) but left deleting the now unneeded redirect pages to you (included a delete tag).
Should I just delete them or is there anything I should keep in mind or make sure I do before a deletion?
--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 18:48, September 8, 2019 (UTC)

Delete request + Reason is perfect :)
In some cases i change the article instead of deleting it, When i'm unsure i post a note on the related talkpage

Dated icons?

I'm looking at some of the older icons, such as File:Axe Icon 0029 (Treasured).png and it occurs to me that these icons have largely, though not entirely, been replaced by the iconnum template attribute. Do you want to keep these around, or should I flag them for deletion as I stumble onto them? -- Ejep520 (talk) 22:53, September 21, 2019 (UTC)

the iconnum is actual icon from census aka the same icon as shown ingame with the background based on the rarity.
When i update items with the census parsed information i'll use the iconnum, in that way i can catch changes of icons as well.
Some of the icons are sadly not on census even the item links to them, so for those we will need the normal icons.
I'm aware that we prolly could delete many of the icons, but i will keep the icons as they are.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 01:44, September 22, 2019 (UTC)
Coming back to this for a moment -- Would you like icons, like the one mentioned above, to have {{ss-i}}, {{icon}}, both, or something else altogether? -- Ejep520 (talk) 14:53, October 6, 2019 (UTC)
The great goal so so speak is to use the iconnum on all of the items and spells. Sadly for some the census links to an icon, but doesn't provide the icon :(
The {{icon}} is for spells only, but need the parameters to call it correctly.
{{ss-i}} or {{ss|-}} or {{ss}} is ok for icons.

CQInfo missing a reward category

Template:CQuestInformation is lacking the ability to recognize Category:Ethereal Equipment rewards. So far, I've only seen one example of this. Low priority, AFAICT, but worth putting on one of the many back burners. -- Ejep520 (talk) 17:55, September 22, 2019 (UTC)

Tier 8 Quest Starters??

Since remaking Strange Looking Bones (Quest Starter), I noticed that Category:Tier 8 Quest Starter was previously deleted by Uberfuzzy >10 years ago. 2 points

Hi Chilli, 2 points I'd like to make: I notice Ejep is adding licenses to many screenshots. Is that something we should all be doing?
Secondly, did you know about this announcement from Daybreak? ...
Maladryn (talk) 19:26, September 30, 2019 (UTC)

Image license: First of all yes if possible select a license when you are uploading an image, if unsure what it is from ingame select the "general ingame screenshot" at least. I don't think it's a "big" deal if they are missing the info, considering that are mostly ingame images on the wiki. It can be problematic for images that are not from ingame, those defo should have a license info.
Census: Yes i saw it via discord. So far census seems to be "up", but prolly not getting updates of discoveries or equipment changes on toons.
-- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 21:09, September 30, 2019 (UTC)
Also, asking me directly is not nearly as dangerous as some folks seem to think. I don't bite. ... Well, okay, I hardly ever bite. As for the licensing, that sort of thing is almost never a big deal, until someone with a briefcase and more money than time decides otherwise, then it suddenly becomes a very big deal, IMHE. An ounce of prevention and all that. -- Ejep520 (talk) 16:23, October 4, 2019 (UTC)

Monster Types?

I was working on A hungering hellhog and noticed that the type (in the MonsterInformation template call) wasn't doing anything. Is this a case of the documentation not keeping up with the template, or did something in the template get broken? Thanks! -- Ejep520 (talk) 21:46, October 4, 2019 (UTC)

The Template:MonsterInformation indeed doesn't call the parameter "type", i'll see what it was meaned to be and how i can change it. -- ChillispikeSig  Chillispike-bubble 14:04, October 5, 2019 (UTC)
👍. Please keep us all in the loop. -- Ejep520 (talk) 14:49, October 6, 2019 (UTC)
