Formerly, the Timorous Deep was the name of the ocean that lay around the continent of Kunark, but was commonly used to refer to the waters north of Kunark, as here lay the primary routes for connecting the continent to the remainder of Norrath. During the Age of Cataclysms, the landmasses shifted and large islands rose from these northern waters, most notably the volcano Gorowyn, which after becoming dormant, emerged as the primary nest of the native Haoaeran. Eventually, in events obscured by time, the Haoaeran were cast out from Gorowyn by their former slaves, the lizard-like Sarnak, and the volcano became the capital city of the latter. Today, the Sarnak rule over all the islands of Timorous Deep, yet their dominion is constantly threated by the Haoaeran who have set up their refuge in Haoaera, high in the canopies of the central Isle of Mok.

Timorous Deep is the starting area for Sarnak, and is an optional starting zone for Humans, Gnomes, Kerrans, Erudites, Half Elves,Barbarians, Ratonga, and Dark Elves.

EQ2I Maps[]

Travel[]

The Timorous Deep is an ocean zone with three islands: Chrykori Isle, Gorowyn, and the Isle of Mok. It is possible to swim between the islands, but more practical to take the griffon routes instead. Unlike in other zones, it is not possible to jump off of a griffon mid-flight in this zone.

The Globe of Swift Travel is located on Faydedar Watch, the docks at the foot of Gorowyn. ( 2322, 2, 1453 ) Copy
