Journal Steps and Dialogue[]
The paper in the bottle reads:
Day 1
There is nothing like being out on the open seas. I'm happier than I've been in months. The seas call to me, like a flower to water... Like a bee to honey... Like a bird to flight... etc.
Day 4
The crew is starting to make me nervous. They don't seem to know the stern from the bow. I told Deckhand X'vrn to scrub the poop deck and he looked at me like I insulted his ancestors... Not to mention they are all dark elves. I didn't think anything of it at the time... I figured the call of the sea and honor among sailors was universal. It's possible I was wrong.
Day 7
Holy Prexus! The air is tainted with the foul smell of mutiny. I can feel my impending doom fast approaching. I don't believe these dark eves are even sailors! I've been hoodwinked, bamboozled, hornswoggled... I can't take them all on by myself, but I can make sure the sea gets them. I've swallowed the key to my chest. They will never survive out on the open ocean without that chest.
The journal entries said there was a chest on the ship. I should look around in the nearby ship wreckage for it. I should investigate the ship wreckage to find the treasure chest.
I found the chest, but it's locked. I found the treasure chest, but it was locked. The journal said the Captain swallowed the key to keep it safe. I should try to find his remains and possibly the key. I should search for the Captain's remains in the bay, in the water near the shore to the south.
I found the Captain's remains and the key. I should go back to the chest and try to open it with the key. I should go back to the chest and attempt to open it with the key.
I was able to open the chest, but there was no treasure. I opened the chest, but there was no treasure... Just oranges, lemons and limes.
I found the chest and key. When I opened it, there was a treasure of oranges, lemons, and limes in it. The purpose of the fruit was to prevent scurvy, I suppose.
