This article needs the new stats of the Horseman and his new loot drops
- In 2020, the Headless Horseman was made even tougher and the quest is now public, with an announcement timer in the zone announcing a countdown to his appearance.
- The Headless Horseman has been revamped in 2013, not just the encounter, but also the loot.
- Introduced during Nights of the Dead, October 2009. Just farm/get the collar on alts to be able to pop the epic anytime
- The item, a lost necklace will be used from your bank slot if you hail the Horseman. (Horseman must be right-clicked, then Offer Necklace, to start)
The Horseman originally spawns at the base of The Hollow Tree, in front of its dark gaping hole. To aggro him, someone in your group/raid must be holding a lost necklace and must right click and offer the necklace for the Horseman to take. The necklace will disappear after you use it. Once the tank secures aggro, drag the Horseman off the strewn field of bones surrounding the tree (to the road adjacent the tree) and then back to the gaping maw of the tree itself to weaken him. The Horseman has a serious knock back. Just back into the maw of the tree and fight Inside the tree.
At 50% health, the Horseman dismounts from his horse. The horse will aggro you and the Horseman will heal to 75% health. It's recommended to kill his horse first, as it seems to keep the Horseman's health boosted.
There are no real tanking tricks to this mob: except for pulling him away and then back to the Hollow Tree, just burn, burn, burn
