Does modification of the UI fall within the scope of eq2i? It would be fantastic to have some information on modification in a form that one does not have to search through 5+ years of forum posts in order to start modding. I'd be happy to get some stuff documented if it would be accepted here. Jfisher446 22:11, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

I think that there would be a great number of people who would be interested in contributing to articles on modding. Go for it!--Kodia 00:08, May 18, 2010 (UTC)
User guides on modding sound fine to me -- feel free to start putting some together, just tag them with [[Category:User Guides]] so that they get properly categorized. If we start getting quite a few of them we can make a category just for them. I'm no genius at modding EQ2's UI, but I do read the EQ2Interface boards and know a decent amount, so I'll help out when I can. Getting things documented would be a great start, as documentation on it is pretty sparse, which significantly increases the barrier to entry for new modders. --lordebon 01:23, May 18, 2010 (UTC)
I wasn't thinking along the lines of user guides really. If that means like tutorials, how I am taking it, correct me if I'm wrong. I was thinking more like documentation on the interface beginning with UI Builder and the interface files, structure, and how they are all put together. Then moving into the different parameters and such and putting all this into a [[Category:UI Modification]] or the like. Guides can be written by anyone but documentation will help so much more for people like me getting back from a hiatus 5 years after writing eq2map. I know. My point about the User Guides category is that all pages should be in at least one category, and that would be the most fitting one until we made a category specifically for it. "User Guides" doesn't mean tutorials, it's just a category where we have guides (information about the game) for users. The tutorials to the game are the largest part of that category, but they don't define it. And in any case, you can start out with the UI Modification category directly, there's nothing wrong with that. --lordebon 16:32, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

UI Builder Edit

Does Daybreak still support the same UI builder that SOE did? The file that is linked to on EQ2Interface was last updated in 2009. Chantessa (talk) 01:14, August 18, 2018 (UTC)
