The craters are no good spots. The item drops off 40+ kobolds only, so the Mines of Meldrath are much more efficient. I fought for hours in the crater, without fruition. In the Mines, I managed to get the quest starter in about ten minutes. Kennin 22:12, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure you used Grikbar Crater and not some other one? There are several craters in Steamfont Mountains. Some of them hold 40- kobolds, some 40+. In conclusion, I think we should drop mention of a "best place to hunt", since it's either outdated information or didn't hold in the first place. I remember hunting for hours in Mines and getting my update from Crater in 1 minute, but that's probably just luck and the drop is purely random on any 40+ kobold. - Chalmo 07:47, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Here's a bit of advice on getting this quest starter to drop. If you have oodles of time on your hands then go ahead and try the Craters. Even the bigger Crater has maybe 5% level 40's around in that area and the smaller Crater is even worse. I spent about two hours camping these Craters with no luck. Went to the Mines and the lens dropped in less than 30 mins. The Mines have many 40+ kobolds so you can basically just continue to kill without having to wait for respawns; something you would be spending most of your time on in the Craters.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Cesh (talk • contribs) 15:17, 21 March 2009 (UCT)
Molten Mana Infused Rock Edit
The Molten Mana Infused Rock (MMIR) is no longer at the Ruined Spire in Lavastorm because of the new Spire repair quests. You need the MMIR to advance in the Staff of the Observer quest. Anyone know where the MMIR now located?
- The Molten Mana Infused Rock is actually at exactly the same location as before, it just doesn't have aggro mobs nearby. The boulderings were moved to a nearby area, but I found the update for this quest at the listed loc, right next to the busy spire rebuilding. --Sigrdrifa 09:02, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
