Grinding Bastion of the Tranquil Faction[]
Since I find myself grinding this quest to get faction, I thought I'd share what I find to be the most effective means of doing so.
Notes[]
- Make sure you have means of using evac, such as Totem of Escape, Gnomish Safety Recaller, Artisan's Escape from the crafting bauble from the quest Shadows of the Betrayed, Malovari's Misplaced Bauble of Banishment etc.
- If you have a guildhall with a Guild Strategist, obtain a Tactical Rally Banner.
Steps[]
- Pick up the quest from Elder Shahib Zaim in Paineel ( 1827, -299, 3447 ) .
- The conversation implies that this quest can only be done once per day, but that is no longer the case. The quest is repeatable as soon as you finish it.
- Go to Kerra Isle first and pick up the Kerra subquest A Message with Spirit from Keyta Wicker ( 1374, 49, 2196 ) .
- I just fly from the Transport Pad over to the tunnel by the waterfall, run the tunnel, talk to Keyta, then fly up and over the wall back to the Transport Pad.
- Use the Kerra Isle Transport Pad to travel to the Toxxulia Forest Station, then kill Toxxulian wyverns and wurms.
- Use Jin'tu's Gift to port to the Hua Mein Village.
- Speak to Shi'jan Sensou in the Caves of the Great Tiger Spirit ( -413, 278, 3212 ) then complete his quest, Into the Arena.
- Don't forget to zone out of the arena and speak to Shi'jan again to finish his subquest.
- The first run through, evac to return to Paineel. Either take the Paineel Transport Pad to the Eye of Dartain Station, or fly overland to it (I think the latter is a little faster, YMMV... compare where you find the scout vs. the location of the transport pads or the Old Paineel transporter). Plant your Tactical Rally Banner in the middle of the quest area, shown in blue on your map.
- On subsequent runs, use your Call to Guild Hall, then have the Guild Strategist send you back to the rally banner.
- Find the wandering kerran spirit and speak to him.
- The kerran scout is trackable, but he also shows up on the map as a moving red quest book (open your full sized map).
- I use the Eye of Dartain Station Transport Pad to go back to Kerra Isle. Depending on how many ways you have to evac, it may be faster to evac to Paineel and take the Paineel Transport Pad to Kerra Isle.
- Talk to Keyta again to finish her subquest.
- Evac or take the Kerra Isle Transport Pad back to Paineel.
- Turn in the quest to Elder Shahib Zaim.
- Rinse and repeat.
