Starter item accidentially released?[]

I wonder if the most recent patch didn't break something. I haven't purchased CD, yet somehow I got a key to start this quest and Piercing the Darkness: Carving a Legacy today with the mail. Anyone know what's up? Thanks! -- Ejep520 (talk) 00:07, September 7, 2019 (UTC)

This is a prelude quest leading up to the next expansion and as such is in general independent of any previous bought expansions, however some of these quests, like Piercing the Darkness: Carving a Legacy requires to acquire something in the Plane of Magic and thus requires to at least own PoP for it. The quest of this talk page however takes place only in content (RoK and SF) thats included in a free account and as such there would be no need to limit the availability of the starter item to anything other than the level of the player. So as long as you're level 110 in either adventuring or tradeskilling there is no need to preclude you from giving you this starter item. And as PoP is required to reach that level it wouldn't even stop you from doing the follow up quest.--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 16:21, September 7, 2019 (UTC)
Ah. I figured it was something like that. Seems odd though; you'd need CD to do the TS quest combines, but they gave the key out to everyone whether they had CD or not. Almost like they want folks to go out and buy up the old xpac before the new one comes out. -- Ejep520 (talk) 20:43, September 7, 2019 (UTC)
Hmm that doesn't seem right, since I don't have an account that has PoP but not CD, what is stopping you from doing the TS combines? If its just the materials, those can be acquired from other players (i.e. through the broker).--Pijotre Kajek (talk/contribs) 21:21, September 7, 2019 (UTC)
