About Making (future) Changes Here[]
Sometimes game restrictions (gear, spells, etc.) can change radically. If you're not super-extra, really, really sure they have changed, please use the word MAY, rather than taking them out. In some cases (at least for brief periods) it might be helpful to have the old notes linger with the addition of the date or year it changed in. For example, the current version if the page mentions changes starting (in or around) April 2014. Another reason old info might be worthy of permitting it to linger...if I could recall when most gear limits were removed, I'd could note it and that might be useful to players who tried the game during the early Free-to-Play era and stopped; perhaps they despised the major bag and bank limits (oh gods, the horror!) but putting a date to the change may revive their interest.
With regard to membership plans and associated benefits, if they are official and currently activated but the info is out of date, change the heck out of them. On the other hand, proposed or incoming changes should be noted as such; did anyone else see (or even join in) the forum nerd-rage and/or see the nerd rage spill all over the internet? Oh yeah. It got ugly in some places, not SWG/NGE ugly, but for a short while it looked like it would. My point about making sure you note any changes as proposed (and the reason I added caveat notes and links to the official matrix all over) is the last thing we need here is anything that "stirs the pot" or that could cause an edit war. We're here because we love the game, after all. :) Yasuewho (talk) 10:45, March 8, 2014 (UTC)Yasuewho
Hey! This Membership/Benefit Thing has Changed[]
For the ease of new editors, those wary of making edits to the Main page and/or, those who prefer not starting a new discussion topic, this is a section that's easy to add comments to or suggest changes. Start below...
This Official post about Free and Silver membership details the most recent changes that occurred in 2013. Yasuewho (talk) 17:53, March 16, 2014 (UTC)Yausewho
I've updated the information for free-to-play, which at this point was significantly out of date. The current maximum level is 100, and the last free expansion content available is Altar of Malice. This post on the forums by Kander confirms that there are no current plans to add later expansions to the free-to-play membership. I also clarified that it is not required for you to have an All Access membership to level past 100, you just need to purchase the current expansion. Megaton238 (talk) 07:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
I added some information about using gift cards to purchase a membership. It's possible to do, but there are caveats and I linked to the Daybreak support article that describes what you have to do in order to use them. I also expanded the section on using Krono. I went through and updated this by moving a lot of the stuff that talked about All Access membership to a new page. Because this is the Free-to-Play topic, I felt it should focus specifically on that, and not meander off into membership benefits and payment methods. I left the notes about the old Silver tier memberships (which have been gone for over six years now) just in case someone returns to the game as a Free member and wonders how that may impact them.
