There has got to be some trick to killing the 7 pairs of wing clippers or the mob is borked on my server. I arrived after another person told me he jsut had a full group clearing the whole island and he couldn't get the quest. I tried afterwards and had the same result. To make sure the island was clear of clipper pairs .. after I had hailed him and he wouldn't give me the quest I ran the circle that there were none up... I just don't understand. My next step is going to be to get 2 groups out here and raid the stinking Island ... I don't get it.
Quest is currently bugged. Maeverick is supposed to fly away once they die. He's not hailable there. You should go to Tenebrous and find him there after freeing him, and hail him there. But as I said, it's bugged atm.
9.22.07 - I cleared the island of wing clippers twice, a few hours apart. I was able to open the jail gate by hailing it (go figure) but could not enter. I never saw High Guard Mavaerick on the island or got a message from him. When I went back to the Hideout he was there and I was able to converse with him and get quest.
Quest change or glitch[]
Per accident i killed Chamberlain before gathered all the Eggs, according to the storyline i should go back and free maverick again on prisoners isle... But i still got the quest after killing Chamberlain, so i gathered the egg i was missing.. came back a other time with only Killing chamberlain in my quest log.. killed him and got the reward..
I didnt needed to free Maverick again
Had the same issue,Could also hail and open the door,After killing the guard standing above the hailable door it then disappeared and he was inside,Killed a few more mobs and he took off
Kill the Pair of guards inside pen by him.[]
I arrow pulled the Wingclipper pair guarding him inside the pen. He turned to face me. Did all the guards and prisoners in and around the jail too. He flew out after I killed a few more pairs in front of jail and guards too. --Kding 05:21, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
He flew away before he gave me the quest[]
like the title says, he flew away before giving me the quest.... this is AFTER freeing him and finding him on the isle.
what is his repop times ? been waiting all day

I killed eight wing clippers, not seven. Five were paired with apprentices and two were guarding Mavaerick. He immediately flew off, yelling that he would be at the hideout. I found him, without a feather, behind the two elders on Whisperwind Isle and received the quest Egg Hunt in the Nest. Sakshale (talk) 00:02, December 4, 2014 (UTC)
The Claymore Timeline[]
After freeing High Guard Maverick on Prisoner Isle he would not talk to me and flew off I was able to find him at -327.76, 0.00, -226.89 on Whisperwind Isle and i was able to pick up his quest to progress the Claymore timeline.
