Saltscale vs Kedge armor[]
From what I have seen, Saltscale is the item name shown in the pattern's examine window, while Kedge is the version that is actually purchased. In addition, Kedge has more resolve and better stats overall. I have heard in game that the Kedge armor is an automatic upgrade granted to All Access subscribers.
