When gathering in nek, turn off flora in your display options, and it helps if the mobs are gray or you have a tank merc set on attack everything. Reset your display in color options to be the highest contrast possible and tab around to find what you need. It helps to get up in the tan areas above ground level, they often have dens and gardens, travel in a straight line and then turn around and go back. Take everything, even if you don't need it. You want respawns of what you DO want. Go from the bridge to the Tombs of Night and back and forth until you get all the respawns you need. If you're evil, and you've done the writs for shrillers and wolves, that's a good spot too, but only if you take it all and check the tan areas and go back and forth, that area is too convoluted for a good search pattern, unlike the straight along the river route from D'abth Bridge to Tombs of Night and back.
Note: Around Bone Lake ( -898, 138, -2038 ) there are multiple nodes of all kinds, including swarms of fish in the lake.
