"Seren Leafsway, a woodelf stationed at Spire Shadow Outpost is alarmed by the pack of kobolds that have emerged from Steamfont, nearby. She would like to know that her scouts will remain safe, and has asked me to catch baby river racers for them. It seems that they give off a pungent odor that repels the beasts." -- Everquest II Journal

- Seren Leafsway: "It appears that we were right. The pack of kobolds are looking to establish their territory in Greater Faydark."
- Player Character: "What kobolds?"
- Seren Leafsway: "The ones that attacked the previous Spire Shadow Outpost set up south of the Combine Spires. The beasts came from Setamfont one night, tearing through the tents and attacking anyone in their way. In the wake of the attack the outpost was relocated here."
- Player Character: "That's what the scouts are watching."
- Seren Leafsway: "Correct. Thankfully, we found that the baby river racers give off a pungent odor repelling the drooling beasts, keeping them away from our scouts. In fact, we could use more, if you are willing."
- Player Character: "Sure. I can get you more snakes."
- Seren Leafsway: "Thank you, [Player Character]. They are the snakes found slithering in the Lower Emerald River. Slay the adult snakes to find the babies needed."
- Player Character: "I'll be back with the baby river racers."
