Roslyn Mischeva's Story[edit | edit source]
Here we tell the tale of Roehn Theer, the Godslayer, the Sentinel of Balance. Before all things, there was the Nameless, and to protect his creation, to ensure that neither order nor chaos could destroy it, he created his seraph – Roehn Theer. Gifted with the twin swords Aeteok and Enoxus, it was within his power to destroy any god who reached too far. And so it was for a time.
The gods of Norrath did not appreciate the existence of a creature that could slay them at a moment's notice. In one of the few times that they all agreed on a course of action, they banded together and forcibly bound Roehn Theer to the Void. How they accomplished this, and how many gods perished in the plot is not known to us mere mortals, but the cost must have been great.
Roehn Theer could not be killed, and so he languished in the Void for a time, bereft of purpose. The universe that The Nameless created moved forward without him, without its protector, and it did not perish. The Void was not without life, however. Shadowed Men called this place home, and Theer set about finding a way to escape, using the Shadowed Men as his proxies on Norrath.
Meanwhile, the great prismatic dragon, Kerafyrm, saw little point in moving forward with his plans without a decisive way of preventing the gods from interfering. He found his answer in the story of Roehn Theer, which he came across in his travels through Ultera, but was frustrated by his inability to travel to the Void. When Odus was pulled through to Ultera, Kerafyrm felt this and traveled to the land to decipher its secrets.
He took the form of "Fyr'remd Lorak," and infiltrated the Erudite population, learning all he could about the Nexus and the Void. With this knowledge and access to the Void, he hatched a plan to manipulate the Erudites and the heroes of Norrath to take the power of Aeteok and Enoxus from Roehn Theer.
To the chagrin of the peoples of Norrath, Kerafyrm's plan was unreasonably successful - the heroes of Norrath were more than up to the task of confronting Roehn Theer. In terrible battle that reverberated across the planes, Roehn Theer was defeated and Kerafyrm stole the power of Aeteok and Enoxos, taking their mystical essence into his very own body.
Now Kerafyrm had the ability to slay gods within his very own being – his claws, each one, were unto Aeteok and Enoxos, capable of permanently slaying Mithaniel Marr, Tunare, or even Prexus. Ages End took one more step closer. But though Roehn Theer was defeated, this was not his final curtain call. He survived the attack, and became instrumental in the final battle with Kerafyrm.
Gathering up the husks of his now mundane swords, he answered the call of Al'Kabor, who promised a strategy to repower them. Eager to confront the creature who stole his name, he arrived in the Skyshrine just as the final confrontation began. He plunged the swords Aeteok and Enoxos into the Tear of Veeshan, greatly amplifying their latent powers and making them whole once more.
Now the true Sentinel of Balance once more, he plunges his weapons into Kerafyrm, binding him, and giving Jorlak the moment he needs to cast the chronomancy spell to end all chronomancy spells. Kerafyrm, Roehn Theer, and Luclin were all touched by Jorlak's gentle tendrils of time.
Kerafyrm and Roehn Theer were thrown into space as Luclin traveled back within time, becoming whole once more. Kerafyrm wildly tried to fight off Roehn Theer's binding, but to no avail. They experienced darkness as the being of the moon reformed around them, one rock at a time.
And there they remain. Forever locked within Luclin's heart, forever locked in each other's arms. A fitting end. And that is the story of Roehn Theer, at least as far as modern history goes.
