This is the Second in a series of four Halloween quests.

Steps[]
- At night (after 8pm Norrath time), go to McQuibble's Farmhouse ( -1835, 22, -197 )
you will see a burning scarecrow surrounded by four animated scarecrows, all chanting like a ritual... approach to get the automatic update. - Return to speak with Professor Heribert.
- NOTE: During the following 2 steps, every time you approach the point on the road by the fence just Northwest of the farmhouse ( -1759, -25, -281 ) you will be attacked by a group of four crazed scarecrows. You will see Shanty's corpse on the ground where they spawned. You cannot examine the corpse and it will vanish the moment you kill the scarecrows.
- Speak to Shanty Gaggleshorn ( -2068, 25, -124 ) . He only appears when you get close to his spawning point, which is to the East of the farm, and on top the South end of the butte ontop of the rock.
- During the day (after 5am Norrath time), enter the McQuibble's Farmhouse ( -1835, 22, -197 ) , you will automatically receive a no-trade a gleaming medallion.
- Head out on the road going northwest of the McQuibble Farm. You will see 3 hay bales in the road ( -1745, -25, -294 ) with Shanty's corpse lying amid them. Approaching the corpse spawns 4 crazed scarecrows of your level, one v heroic and three vv heroics. Killing them updates the quest.
- Return to speak with Professor Heribert.
You may now safely destroy a gleaming medallion.
