What does this information mean?
The Temple of the Ill-Seen is a multi-leveled maze of paths and stairs containing groups of Aberrants, cepholex, and fathomlurkers.
There are five named creatures to kill:
- Grelikor ( -44, 2, 159 )
- Klandoth ( -111, 22, 145 )
- Tlat-a-tor ( -85, 24, 73 )
- Yagg-kythor ( -150, 18, 241 )
- Xoth, the Ever Rending ( -63, -1305, 255 )
All of these are fairly straightforward fights. Xoth, the Ever Rending has a big AOE and knockback.
Walkthrough[]
The room of stairs[]
Most of the trash monsters in the zone have abilities that hit hard and can cause damage spikes, but are otherwise unremarkable.
Clear trash as you go. Grelikor is straight ahead. He's mostly tank n' spank. At 10% health he casts a curse. With all the damage proc'ing gear attainable through the solo quest lines, he went down before the curse had a chance to do anything.
Go up the flights of stairs towards the top of the room, clearing as you go.
Klandoth can be found in the northeast corner near the top. He casts a curse called Crushing Torsion, which causes you to automatically target him every 6 seconds, as well as a minor tick (20K health) of crushing damage. Try to not pull him along with any trash.
Once you've cleared the stairs, run back down and click the burning brazier to get the quest Dormant Braziers. It shouldn't be overly difficult if there aren't any trash mobs to contend with.
Cathedral Sweep[]
As soon as you cross the threshold, you'll automatically receive Cathedral Sweep, a timed quest. Head in, and stick as close to the wall as you can - Tlat-a-tor walks up and down the middle of the room, and you don't want to aggro him if possible until you've finished the timed quest. Kill the 3 dark-shadowed wretches (consider disabling auto-attack on your merc, otherwise they'll run after the wretches and aggro Tlat), then leave, and head to the southeast temple. Kill the accumulated consequents.
Boss cleanup[]
Head back to the north cathedral for Tlat-a-tor. He seems to be merely tank n' spank.
Now backtrack to the southeast cathedral for Yagg-kythor. He too seemed to be tank n' spank.
Head back to the lower levels and take the previously locked path to the Southern Cathedral. Watch out for the Aberrants placed behind the entryway where you can't see them. Hug the walls and clear all the tras, then engage Xoth, the Ever Rending. Xoth has two tricks - one is an AOE with a knock-up-and-back effect that hits for about 330K, and the other is an arcane effect that teleports you to somewhere else in the small room that he's fought in. He hits fairly hard, but even standard solo geared players should be able to simply burn him down.
