Strategy[]
The fouth named encounter in The Vigilant: Final Destruction.
Double-tank the encounter, with MT on Alaric and the OT group-tanking Morgnon, Malenor, Kardag and Krronr. (Each with approximately 5,000,000 HP.)
- Highly recommend having raid avoid damaging AOEs and curing curses then focus firing Krronr down first to take Lay Waste out of the equation. If a raid member does get the Lay Waste curse on them, have them run out of range of the rest of the raid.
High Marus Aleric cannot be killed while other mobs are alive but when they die, he can cast Casualties of War spell (see below). If you just keep attacking him while adds are alive, he will just heal back to full if he falls below 65% or so. The strategy here is to save dps until all adds are dead and High Marus Aleric is under 50%. Then cast all of your DPS buffs and have everyone attack the mob. If you're fast enough, he won't get a chance to cast Casualties of War.
A5 50% health and below High Marus Alaric summons a pillar (you will see an emote) that will cast Casualties of War which will instantly kill 4 players (presumably one kill for each of his adds). The pillar will explore in a 5-10 seconds after it is summoned and running away from the mob will not help. Since Casualties of War can only kill 4 people, if you're in a full group or raid it shouldn't be devastating; this is however something to remember if you attempt to box or solo him (I boxed him with zerker and mystic).
Some of the spells High Marus Aleric will cast: Casualties of War - damage and power drain (can hit for more than 100k) Lay Waste - damage and power drain (can hit for more than 100k) Tallon's Order - damage and power drain Tallon's Sphere - damage and power drain
