As revealed by Brother Jhand, the Halls of Discipline were used in the past by great monks to "focus their minds," and as such, "an echo of their essence still remains, as if their knowledge was absorbed into the walls." Also naga were drawn to the cave as well, possibly due to this residual knowledge left by the powerful monks.
