Guild Charter

Sariah's "Hope" was and is for this guild to be a family guild, ie. a group of gamers uniting for the cause of having fun by means of helping each other grow as a unit as well as individually with the hopes of calling each other "friend". My goal in achieving this was and is gaining the trust and help of a group of people to surround Sariah and I as officers to help us create this Hope and lead this guild in a family setting. Because of the chosen family atmosphere, this guild is led by the officers as a whole and not as a tyranny by the leaders for the sole purpose of placing the guilds desires and needs above our own. When we play we are members but when we lead we are officers. In and of itself, size does not effect the outcome of the guild atmosphere. The leadership effects the outcome. Based upon this, as we grow so will our rank structure with more "family oriented", trusted people to keep the ideals of Sariah's Hope straight.

2) Sariah's "Hope" was and is for this guild to advance through all of the trials that eq2 has planned for us on a pace dictated by the members volunteering their time and efforts. Nothing in this guild is now or will ever be mandatory. My goal in achieving this Hope is recruiting good members. This is the design of the initiate/recruit rank, to filter out the people that will not mesh. Growth is needed to combat becoming stagnant. New members will bring new ideas, new strength and new "Hope". There is nothing that says a family cannot make it to the top.

Guild Rules

Sariah's Laws

Guild Atmosphere and Language

1. We encourage roleplaying, however, it is not mandatory. We feel that getting involved in being your character enhances gameplay.

2. We are a family oriented guild. We will be there to aid each other in all avenues in an attempt to succeed as a guild.

3. Language rating : PG-13. We ask that cursing and sexual comments and innuendo be kept to a minimum. Keep in mind that some members have their children playing. You may be warned via tell if you are being too offensive. Absolutely NO disrespect of anyone in the game. Should a problem arise, you will need to contact an officer to mediate the dispute. The officer will then create a chat channel for all parties involved in an attempt to settle the dispute.

4. You are a reflection of the guild when you wear the Sariah's Hope tag. We do not want our guild name to be tarnished in anyway. Because of the design of instancing in this game, camp stealing will not be tolerated. You are expected to always find an open camp. Never get into an argument in /ooc or /shout with anyone. There are better ways to handle problems with guildies and non-guildies. You will be expected to use good judgment and take these complaints to an officer.

Raiding, Grouping and Looting

1. Grouping with guildies is encouraged but not required. This is encouraged for the simple reason of getting to know one another to help create the family atmosphere. Group looting will never be decided by the guild. Group looting is the sole decision of the group as a whole or group leader. Guild rank is not a factor in this decision.

A) Sariah's Hope is NOT a "Need Before Greed" (NBG) guild. All group looting is at the sole discretion of the group as a whole or group leader. Group looting should be decided upon and clearly agreed upon before the hunt begins.

B) Rare Heritage Drops - Sariah's Hope will be utilizing a first come first serve basis utilizing the guild forums for ALL rare heritage drops. These drops will be listed on the forums with a list of people who are at the point of the heritage quest requiring the rare drop. If a full member is at the rare drop section of their heritage, request to be added to the list on the appropriate forum boards. The first person on the list MAY choose to pass the item to the next person on the list without loosing their place on the list ( and so on down the list).

  • NOTE * If there are no guild members on the list at the time a "listed" heritage rare is dropped, the rare will be turned over to the guild bank. This rare will be held until the next guild member joins the list. If NO guild member joins the list for this specific heritage rare in a reasonable amount of time, the guild officers will decide upon the destiny of this rare with the possibility of it being sold to provide guild monies.

2. Raiding is encouraged but not required. You may be asked to join a raid based upon the need of help, however, you will never be required to attend. Remember, the more you help the guild, the more the guild will help you. Raid looting will be dictated solely by the raid leader leading that particular raid.

3. When a drop is available for bidding it will be assigned to an officer by the Raid Leader. This officer will call for bids in an open channel and receive silent bids via /tell from all that wish to bid. The officer will call this item three times and then announce the winner.

Invitation Policy

1. As our core philosophy is heavily steeped in loyalty to one another, we do require incoming members to embrace that ideal. We do not tag your "alt" toons while your "main" remains outside of the guild. You may not have an alt in another guild while applying with or as a member of Sariah's Hope. In other words, your "main" must be tagged in Sariah's Hope and your alts must fly our tag or none at all if you wish to be a part of this guild. We believe in personality above all. We take care of our own. We pride ourselves on being a family and want anyone we invite to have the same ideals. Your either a part of the family... or your not.

2. When you are invited you will be asked for a list of your alternate characters. These will be the characters that can be invited to the guild after your main character is voted to full member

3. As a member of Sariah's Hope, we expect you to be proud of your tag and it should be displayed at all times. If you choose to hide certain information, please use /roleplay instead of /anon.

4. A newly invited toon will hold the rank of Initiate /Recruit until he/she demonstrates himself/herself worthy as a family member. Officers and ambassadors will vote on this toon to be promoted to full member status. Newly invited toons are expected to make an effort to interact with their new family, this speeds the process of getting to know each other. New recruits are voted to member as soon as enough officers and ambassadors believe they are worthy. If recruit absence, or lack of interaction, prevent determination of a membership vote for a prolonged period, the recruit may be dismissed.

5. The loyalty and family attitude within Sariah's Hope does not accept split or fickle allegiance. Therefore, there are additional restrictions when re-applying for membership after leaving the guild. The officers only will vote on the repeat-recruit, and will not vote without an explanation for why the applicant left the guild, and adequate time for all officers to be made aware of the occurrence. If the player has any other characters in the guild those characters will also be reduced in rank while awaiting the vote of the officers.

Alliances

Synopsis: A guild alliance, whether it be individual or full guild, is a great way to create a powerful tool to defeat the game on multiple levels. This alliance allows the allies the ability to greatly increase their manpower pool while keeping their original guild tag.

Individual: An individual alliance will benefit both Sariah's Hope and the potential allies by providing opportunities for both. This alliance will create a larger manpower pool via the alliance channel for grouping, raiding, questing, tradeskilling and trading. The individual allies MUST have express permission from their own Guild Leader/Officer before applying for this program.

Guild: A Guild Leader or Officer may apply to Sariah's Hope for a guild alliance. A guild alliance will benefit both Sariah's Hope and the potential allies guild by providing opportunities for both. This alliance will create a much larger manpower pool via the alliance channel for grouping, * raiding *, questing, tradeskilling and trading.

Agreement: The guild or individual applying to the Sariah's Hope Allie program will agree to abide by all of Sariah's Hope's policies set into place. This alliance will provide no guarantees on anything, we are a family style guild that provides each other assistance on a voluntary basis only. Those that help others, will receive help when it is needed. All allies members will be required to /autojoin a passworded allies chat channel.

Sariah's Hope Hosted Raids: Sariah's Hope guild members will receive first dibs on all loot obtained during a Sariah's Hope hosted raid. All loot passed by SH will be given to the ranking guild allies officer for proper distribution. Sariah's Hope Raid Leader is the unquestioned leader of this raid... period.

Allies Guild Hosted Raids: The hosting guild will have first dibs on all loot obtained by an Allies Hosted Raid. All loot passed on by the hosting guild will be placed into the SH system. The allies guild's Raid Leader is the unquestioned leader of this raid (unless requested otherwise).

This in /tell warning will be brought to the officer boards to make sure all officers are aware of the violation.

3) On the second violation of the same nature, the offender's actions will be brought to the boards for a vote. The investigating officer will get the facts from the offender as well PRIOR to bringing the violation to the boards.

5) Punishment:

a) First Offense - warned by original witnessing officer in /tell

b) Second Offense - Probation. The offender will be placed on probation placing him/her on rank hold and loot bidding hold. The probation length will be decided by vote of six (6) to be consistent with the offense.
