Required for this quest: You NEED The Bone Bladed Claymore and The Screaming Mace completed AND ON YOU to start the quest or you cannot progress. Also, you will need 7p20g and 12 of each; Crispy Fried King Prawn Heads, Torsis Tea Ice Cream, Juicy Cranberry Cobbler, and Cocoa-dusted Wedding Cake, to complete the quest.
Starting
Take The Bone Bladed Claymore with you to Jimbo <The NEW Steel Warriors> in Windstalker Village in Antonica ( -1874, -35, -636 ) He asks you, “Wow! Is that it?! Is that the magic sword from Stormhold Keep? THE Bone Bladed Claymore?” His tone changes as he says, “hmm… well it is kind of impressive that you got it, but it isn’t thaaat great. Now if you were to find a real legendary sword that would be impressive.” He convinces you to give him the sword to join their guild for information on finding a powerful sword from the great lead his grandmother told him about, used in a battle over 200 years ago.
The Search for Vel'Arek
- Go to the Commonlands, to ( 619, -57, 208 ) , and pick-up the scroll in the water next to the skeleton, Scroll of Froglok Flesh. Read the scroll in your inventory to update your quest. It's on approximate 5 minute re-spawn timer.
- Head to Feerrot to the Tower of Vul (next to Obelisk of Lost Souls entrance), and look for a small tablet in the corner against the wall at ( -914, -1, 551 ) . Try to pick-up the tablet and Medic Chief Gorza (83 one down non-heroic), spawns to stop you and says, “He cursed us! Urduuk’s defilement was our ruin!” Kill him and pick-up the tablet again. Read the tablet in your inventory update your quest. (Broken Thulian Tablet)
- Go to The Temple of Cazic-Thule with your The Screaming Mace on you, and go through the tunnels to the room with Ux Uval (the zombie) in it. In the right corner of the room, speak to the NPC Kelteez the Covetous ( 4, -12, -78 ) , who will take The Screaming Mace from you, to update your quest.
- Head to Jarsath Wastes, using your Overthere Hammer. Enter the first building on the left as you enter Danak Shipyard and buy the Rallosian Garrison Journal for 2p40g from [[Eviss Ryiss <Danak Quarter Master>]] (+40,000 faction required), ( -104, -39, 1106 ) . Read the book in your inventory to update your quest. You can sell the book back for 1p 66g 66s 67c after your update.
- Go to Kunzar Jungle, and underneath the small waterfall outside of Jinisk, ( 376, 7, -276 ) , and attack the breakable wall there. Wall will re-pawn behind you in 5 seconds. Go to the back of the cave to ( 528, -8, -436 ) , and grab the sword in the stone. A message will appear that, ”The sword will not budge from the stone” and the Manifestation of Vel'Arek will spawn. Speak to him, and he tells you to go find and kill Urduuk.
- Head to Feerrot and zone into the Shard of Fear. [[Urduuk the Desecrator <Tortured Prisoner>]] can be found locked in a force field next to The Caretaker ( -243, 25, -236 ) . You must visit him prior to getting the 4 updates he requires to unlock the force field.
- Fragment of Fear - Kill Terror Epic x2 in Shard of Fear
- Censer of Cazic - Body Drop in Sebilis. Kill Sathrian Priests - a Sathirian Patron “Merchant District” in south east area, a Sathirian Archon 148, -11, 112, or a Sathrian Spiritist near the “Enlisted Barracks”
- Sigil of divine undoing - Harvestable by any alter in Chelsith from a grey dust pile with shiny “?” above it.
- Essence of a God Curse - Kill Garanel in Estate of Unrest
- Go back to Shard of Fear, after you received all four updates. You have to zone into a new instance, cannot be a continuation of a persistent zone, or [[Urduuk the Desecrator <Tortured Prisoner>]] won't give you any updates. Speak to him and his prison is destroyed and he will escape back to Norrath. You receive Shackles of Horror.
- Head back to the Commonlands, to where you found the body next to the Scroll of Froglok Flesh under the water at ( 619, -57, 208 ) , use the Shackles of Horror near the skeleton and [[Urduuk the Desecrator <Former General of the Rallosian Empire>]] will appear as a lvl85^^^ Heroic walking nearby the water’s edge. He will become agro as you get close; kill him to take his head and to get your update.
- Back to Kunzar Jungle talk to Manifestation of Vel'Arek. Grab the sword again to make him appear. He wants you to still prove yourself and recover 8 tags from military units of Rallosian of Glory.
- Remej's tag: Check under the skull next to the skeleton next to Vel'Arak inside the cave in Kunzar Jungle ( 528, -8, -436 )
- Cusmar's tag: Purchased from [[Dealer Zaynx <Faction Merchant>]] (40,000 faction required) for 4p80g in City of Jinisk in Kunzar Jungle. Only appears for sale from merchant at this part of the quest.
- Eloc's tag: Harvestable update is random dirt pile with a “?” above it in Danak Shipyard in Jarsath Wastes. ( -13, -40, 1094 ) , ( -134, -34, 1075 ) , ( -122, -50, 1231 ) , ( -418, -39, 1213 ) , or ( -277, -49, 1210 )
- Rabid's tag: Body drop from Impaler Tzilug in Charasis: Maiden's Chamber instance in Jarsath Wastes
- Modi's tag: Update is a random body drop from killing these mobs; drakes, wurms, devourers, and wyverns in Skyfire Mountains in Jarsath Wastes, around the Temple of Red Lord.
- Tank's tag: This is harvestable update in Court of Korucust instance inside Chardok in Kylong Plains. Located in a cell on the right side, ( -763, -68, 234 ) . You may need to jump up on cell bar to see so it can be harvested.
- Elno's tag: Head to Fens near Kurn’s Tower in the Field of Bones( -1567, -376, -1839 ) to get this body drop. Clear out the mobs in the area to spawn [[Digmaster Bonerattler <Bonedigger Digmaster>]] lvl85^^^ Heroic with 2 a Bonedigger Crusher 85^ Heroic adds, inside a burrow. Kill them to get the update.
- Limik's tag: This is traded from [[Thunderbelly <Old Hungry Giant>]], in the giants area near the Field of Bone in the Fens at ( -882, -290, -1935 ) . You need to bring him 12 of each; Crispy Fried King Prawn Heads, Torsis Tea Ice Cream, Juicy Cranberry Cobbler, and Cocoa-dusted Wedding Cake. You can buy these on the broker or search a Provisioner for help. He'll give the final tag.
- Go turn in the tags to Vel'Arek, back in Kunzar Jungle, he will send you to kill who was responsible for the siege of Tallon's Point, this is Dominus Ganak.
- Head to Jarsath Wastes to Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep, and grab the Phylactery from in front of the final named.
- Go take the Phylactery, to Ganak's Old Tomb behind the Reet camp, in Kunzar Jungle. Use the Phylactery inside the tomb to spawn Dominus Ganak, a lvl85^^^ Heroic, kill him to get your update. Note: if you fail to kill Ganak you will have broken the Phylactery and will need to redo Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep to spawn him again. Note: that if you are not at this step, but used the Phylactery, Ganak will spawn as an Epic mob.
- Head back to Vel'Arek in Kunzar Jungle for the last time and receive your epic weapon.

To get the quest you must right click on the sword and pick use, the Manifestation of Vel'Arek will apear and offer you the quest.
- I need to find an ancient guardian of the iksar and wield Vel'Arek against it, head to The Protector's Realm and kill Imzok's Revenge for first update.
- The Overking: Selrach Di'Zok (Boss of Temple of Kor-Sha) for second update
- Silverwing in Veeshan's Peak for the final update.

This timeline details the quests for the fabled and mythical versions of a class's Epic Weapon. You must be at least Level 80 in order to start/complete this quest line. The Fabled version of the epic requires only completing content of heroic difficulty at maximum, while the Mythical version requires completing several Epic encounters, culminating in one inside Veeshan's Peak. |
