Q1
What should i do with the parameters an article doesn't need?
A1
Please leave parameters (parameter = |) and the comments (<!-- comment -->) in the article and don't brother removing them

Q2
But but the Article doesn't need them and if i remove them it's easier to read the template use or not?
A2
True, but that would be only correct if the related item never changes in game and so far there had been 4? gear changes in game and if there is a gear change someone prolly has to add the parameters again which is a lot of work so the article doesn't get updated.

Q3
Hmm ok that's for the parameters but why the comments?
A3
Not every editor has the same wiki skill, and specially when you start editing (been there done that, trust me). In many cases the comments helps to understand what does this parameter do, if you remove them then you make it harder for other may not to change your edit but to figure out what did you do there and why? In such a template heavy wiki is a lot of learning by doing needed.

so what do you think? -- User:Chillispike  User_talk:Chillispike 11:05, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

Looks pretty good. Are you thinking of doing something like a FAQ page for new editors? It might be useful for basic questions like this --lordebon (talk) 15:16, July 13, 2014 (UTC)
After performing thousands of edits and adding thousands of new articles... I agree with everything you've said here. Great post! I wouldn't mind contributing to an FAQ section as Lordebon suggests. User:Paceyourself (Talk) 15:18, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah a FAQ is maybe a goal, i saw articles while clearing them up where the comments or whole parameters got removed. Will see if more questions pop into my mind :) or feel free to add Questions "below" i'll move em to top. it should get to overloaded -- User:Chillispike  User_talk:Chillispike 07:56, July 14, 2014 (UTC)

What about parameters an article truly doesn't and will never need though, such as image2 and caption2 (equipped appearance and equipped appearance caption) for jewelery articles? Or deprecated parameters on older articles like health weight and power? I always thought that a long list of parameters could be intimidating and make it harder to find things. very very few jewelery pieces have a appearance atm, like Mark of Awakend instinct is one and the Coppel ring from GD has one. But how knows if soe decides to add an apperance to many other jewerly pieces in the future als well?
health, power and weight or the old different crit chance are unlikely to return, so i would remove those yes. Even there would be no need to remove those when you change a different value.
Yeah i know while editing it's even temping for me to remove the parameters that are not needed atm. but it takes some time to do that and maybe with the one or 3 expansions later the parameter will be needed again. a kind of perfect example are the "str, sta, agi, wis, int, sta" ones because currently the item is statwise a let's say Mage item but 4 expansions later it's Fighter one and that did happen to quite some items trough every tier.
When i was writing this i was trying to see it (on long past and) the long run and not only for the current state while editing an item.
