As you've probably noticed, we have a new skin made for us by one of wikia's staff, User:MarkvA. Let us know what you think about it here, and don't forget to sign your comments with ~~~~! --lordebon (talk) 17:06, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

I like the new skin a lot. I found the old stark white to be harsh on the eyes. Good choice for the new look.68.52.171.251 03:15, September 24, 2012 (UTC)

I love the new look. The background was always a bit too plain for me. I use that image as my desktop background. I thought firefox broke and I was looking through the window to my background :). Love the new look! Benj (talk) 22:10, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

I'm still using monobook, honestly. I have more screen real estate that way. I certainly agree that the new skin is gorgeous. I haven't tried the new look inside the in-game browser yet, however, and I worry that it will be problematic there. --Sigrdrifa (talk) 13:23, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

There should be no issues with the in-game browser. The new background image doesn't use any special code or anything to make it work. When I've tested it it looks fine, the only difference is you don't tend to actually see much of it unless you really expand the in-game browser on a higher-resolution screen. --lordebon (talk) 00:31, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

Totally dislike it. Prefer the previous look hands down. The background image is a standard image taken from another wiki or from the game wallpapers (either way there could be much better grapics and actually looks like the one we developed for our wiki long ago and had discarded it since we couldn't get the permission to use the copyright image) and the red/white color scheme could be much easier on the eyes. Granted it's just my opinion which everyone has one, just weighing in as you asked. You guys have a super good bit of useful information often used in conjunction with ZAM by many folks and we are very appreciative of the work you've put into the wiki.

Could you elaborate on the color scheme being hard on the eyes? The only things that are red/white are the top and bottom bars, the main article text is the normal back-on-white. The image is modified from a wallpaper in EQ2's download section; if someone has an image they think is better or wants to make one for us we'd definitely give it a look. In the meantime, individual users can always use their personal css on the wiki (User:Username/wikia.css) to change the look of things for themselves. You can remove the background image for example by adding body: {background-image:none;} and can add background-color:#CCCCFF; before the closing } to give it a simple color background (in that case a light blue like the old one; you can pick any standard hex color you like).
I wanted to offer a variety of background images / color schemes that people could select from, but unfortunately the way Wikia has locked down the skin prevents us from having more than the current skin and the monobook fallback. --lordebon (talk) 15:39, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

I'm one of the people who went back to using MonoBook after Wikia did away with Monaco, so I had to switch my preferences to take a look and I'll be going right back to MonoBook. For my take on the new site, I don't have a problem with the colors. The current image doesn't seem particularly relevant to Everquest 2 though. I know they're supposed to be Fae, they don't really look like EQ2 Fae though. I'd have rather gotten the original Antonia Bayle/Lucan D'Lere artwork for the background. Or if Antonia is too PG13, maybe Statue of Rallos Zek from the DoV box. Jeff (talk|stalk) 16:15, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

I don't like it. If I want to see pictures of things, I'll search for them. I want my information sites clean. The pictures are distracting, and not so good that I want to see them over and over and over and over and...--70.59.92.119 06:48, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

I like it. It's far more interesting visually and brighter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Catarya (talkcontribs)

It looks like the <tabber> mechanics are broken. --Shaddock79 (talk) 17:13, August 22, 2012 (UTC)
