EQ2i is a free compendium of information about the Everquest 2 online roleplaying game. EQ2i is written by people like you. There are three things you can do at EQ2i. You can read articles, you can edit articles, and you can write articles. There are some things that do not belong on EQ2i, but apart from those, all other contributions are welcome. Reading
Reading is simple. Go to the Main Page, find a subject that looks interesting, and start exploring. There's also a search box on every page. Check out our Reader's FAQ for some specific things about reading the site that you may find useful.
Editing
Anyone can edit pages in EQ2i. You don't need special credentials; you don't even need to be logged in. A simple way to start helping is just to use EQ2i as you would any other encyclopedia of information. When you spot a problem - a spelling mistake, perhaps, or an unclear sentence, why not go in and fix it? If you can see a way of improving a page, just do it. Check out our Editor's FAQ for more specific quick tips on just what you can do to edit EQ2i articles and information.
You might find this a bit scary. Don't panic! Nothing can be destroyed. Every edit is tracked for every page, making it possible to retrieve older versions of information or compare versions to see where things went wrong.
Writing
Editing our existing information is great, but we'd like you to contribute your knowledge too. You can start a brand new page, or find an existing page and add an entirely new section to it. Don't worry too much about making mistakes - if you do get something slightly wrong, then you, or anyone, can always fix it later.
Note: If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don't submit it.
We've got a few policies and guidelines you might want to look at. Also, the project is focused on building a compendium of specific EverQuest II game information, so there are many things that EQ2i is not.
