What does this information mean?
Notes
This is an unlimited repeatable quest. There are four different tradeskill missions offered by Madria Varas and you can complete them as many times as you wish. However, she will only offer you a new quest approximately every hour. The tradeskill zones are persistent instances and you are subject to the minimum duration timers for each instance. In practical terms, this means you can only do each quest once every 90 minutes. One exception is The Shipyard Cove instance, which has a minimum duration of 18 hours (this is most likely an oversight on the part of the developers).
- These quests can be completed in a group, but there is no combat and can be done solo.
- No harvested materials or fuels are required. Everything you need is provided in the instance.
- The Mass Production tradeskill prestige ability can be used to complete this quest quickly.
Steps
- Daily group tradeskill mission.
- Speak with the balloon conductor (Urdu) at the Overlook in Moors of Ykesha.
- Fly to the Palace of the Ancient One (tradeskill).
- Once inside the instance, complete the tradeskill instance as you would any other tradeskill instance.
- Obtain quest from Tomkin Cogsbottom <Construction Foreman> at ( -19, 13, 15 )
- Building a Better Portal
- Don't forget to hail Tomkin a second time. He has an all-in-one Makeshift tinkered workstation which any artisan class can use while on the quest.
Note
You can use mass production to make all 12 of each component at once, despite what mass production says about mass produced combines not applying to quests, this quest is an exception. However, you will have to make them in batches of 15, since you can only mass produce in multiples of 5.
After you have done three combines, in any amount, you will be able to turn in the quest, and get the quest again, and do the rest of it. However, you will not complete the quest until all of the items are made for all 4 stages, each one you will need to make 12 of. So, you should only turn it in once you have completed 12 of each. When turning in all items, there is a bit of delay as the record book goes through each stage, but you have indeed finished the quest.
If you have completed the quest A Cannon to Sail By, you can use the cannons to get to the balloon pad and back. You can also use a leaping mount to jump across.
Or, after you've received the quest from Madria, while still in Mara, talk to Koros Splinterlimb and purchase a Mission Stone of the Void which will zone you to The Overlook balloon pad from where you can select the option to go to the tradeskill zone.
Like the other group tradeskill quests, you need to make 12 of each item and you can turn them all in at once.
Materials Needed
- 48 metal armor scraps from plate wearing raiders
- 60 damaged jewelry from plate wearing raiders
- 48 strips of previously worn cloth from robe/gi/chain wearing raiders
- 24 scavenged leather armor pieces from robe/gi/chain wearing raiders
- 12 horse meat from dead horse mounts
- 12 dire bear meat from dead dire bear mounts
- 60 void-touched lumber from clickable trees
- 60 void residue from the residue blobs, one harvest each
- 216 void-warped coal from harvestable coal deposits
Rewards
- 1 Far Seas Trading Company Token
- At least 1p 60g at level 95
- 12,763 status at level 95
- Completing this quest gives +1,500 faction with Far Seas Supply Division
Exquisite Chest
In addition to the quest reward, an exquisite chest also drops from the Boss monster in the zone.
