There are reports in every corner of Faydwer of nighttime kidnappings by winged-creatures made of stone. Most reports agree that the creatures took off southward, in the direction of the Loping Plains. Winged-creatures made of stone coming out a territory ruled by vampires can mean only one thing: these kidnappings are the work of Castle Mistmoore. However, an elven investigator, Investigator Dajimal, claims to have seen a gargoyle make not for the castle, but rather for the Crypt of Valdoon, home of the Trueborns, one of the elite vampire clans and led by Count Valdoon Kel'Novar. The investigator furter claims that the vampires are extracting the souls of their kidnapping victims and using them to animate golems. For what end, no one can truly say. But one thing is certain, Valdoon and his Trueborn must be stopped at all costs!
