Mystic Epic Weapon Timeline

I hope I am not misusing the feature, but...This is the first time I have contributed, and it was simply to wikify the Mystic Epic Weapon Timeline. I think for your first time you've done a great job. Wiki markup, for all that people say it is easy, really isn't sometimes and you've done a good job getting things started. I've mulled this over in my mind and as a result of your excellent work on this page, I'm opening a discussion on improving epic weapon write-ups. I'm doing this before making any formatting changes to the Mystic Epic Weapon Timeline, which I know you were hoping to see, and for that delay I apologize. I think the discussion needs to happen first. We'd love for you to take part in this discussion to help us flesh out a plan for improving all Epic Weapon timelines and make them all more consistent. Progressive Item Upgrade Solution

Please see Crest of D'Morte. I think the proposed solution for items that successively improve or otherwise change their stats throughout a quest arc is a good one. Unless anyone else has suggestions on how to improve upon this, I vote this is the way we handle it.--Kodia 13:54, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm not 100% sure, but i think you need to use item 1 to get item 2 and item 2 get's destroyed in the batte but you find item 3

So i think, it's not the same item all the time it's a new one each time.

Ill Will got sperated too because they are different items (stats change) with the same name.

Sokokar Timeline Question

Per the Sokokar Timeline page, the following Admin Needed message was left:

Should these quests be considered a separate timeline (or a sub-timeline) from within the main Kylong Plains timeline, or should they be reformatted to be part of the Kylong Plains timeline?.

At present, our normal course of action is to keep quests with their timeline. The Sokokar "timeline" isn't really such a beast. It is an either/or *series* within the Kylong Plains quest timelines. However, with SOE moving to a "quest hub" distribution in a particular zone (where there are certain quest lines, not all of which follow each other like they do in Antonica or Commonlands) the point is a valid one. Do we leave the quest timelines as is, and change Sokokar to reflect the Kylong Plains timeline? Or do we begin a new adventure in editing and start "quest series" listings to assist people through longer progressions of quests? Some longer quest progressions already have their own timelines, so there is precedence for a non-zone timeline. However, at what point does a "timeline" progression, become significant? New Halas City Tasks Timeline

I am trying to update the wiki with the new halas zone, starting with the city tasks. I do not know how to link the city timeline page for new halas to the main city task page, so I hope you can take care of that.

NEED ADDITIONS

Strikethrough and AE Autoattack Chance needs to be added for Velious items.

Equipment Template Update Needed?

I just created a page Cavalier's Bloodstained Breastplate and it it supposed to have a +3 to weapon skills. Since it is not a Blue Stat I could not figure out how to add it to this item. The Mac

This page: 'http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/By_Hook_or_By...' is not correct. I tried to rename it to 'By Hook or by...' but that page already exists and redirects you to the incorrect page. Also there is a third page out there listed as 'By Hook or by' thanks The Mac

Zone Rename Requests tagged as Admin Needed

A brief look through Category:Zone Rename Requests shows at least one request from 2010 and two from 2011. Since the Zone Rename tamplate says that zone rename edits are automated, could the bot owner/admin get into this? 71.234.215.133 11:36, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Uberfuzzy is the Admin with the zone rename script, I'll give him a poke and see if he can get the zone renames caught up. I know for sure they've been done more recently than 2010, some of the older ones might have missing confirmation or something at the time or had some other reason they weren't done. --lordebon (talk) 18:23, April 21, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah i have a bot i did't use for a while, but since it's semi automatic bot i can do the zone moves with him and check if the information i replace is the correct one.

A few zones got moved without the template paced, i'll clear those up and then see which other zones need a move

You got nearly all of the categories of the old zone name, but quite some links need to refer to the actual zone name too.

If you place the rename request on the Instance that needs a to be moved i can run the bot to rename the related articles and you don't have to put the AfD on the old categories.

I will try to sort the ones that need currently a move out.

I found 2 more zones that have been moved a while ago, i'll check the move log back till 2010 or so to find other zones that bot moved but may need a clean up. on those who need a clean up i placed the ZoneRename template to make them show up in the Category till i cleaned them up. --   13:51, January 7, 2014 (UTC)

Improper Category Page

If you see a article that should get removed place {{AfD|Reason (like created by misstake)}} on the top of the article or category and we'll see that needs be be removed or sorted out.

NPC or something else?

While updating the many, many quests for the Far Seas Supply Division, I realized that we a need more efficient way point players to the weekly quests offered by the desk in the Village of Shin. The desk can be described within the body of several quests, but that gets a bit messy. Likewise, it'd be great to have a page like the one for Kaisha Swifteasel and Madria Varas that offers up a handy-dandy menu of tradeskill quests offered in that location. I flagged the page for approval because it obviously has no race, in spite of the fact that it functions like a NPC. I looked for other ways to categorize it here, but came up empty. In addition, I added a photo of the cupboard used to turn in the quests to the same page, since one is useless without the other. Let me know what I did wrong/need to change. Related to the above, is there a category for Faction NPCs (for quests, rather than merchants) that I'm missing? I know it would have saved my sanity more than once to look up a list of Far Seas Supply Division Faction NPCs now that we have them scattered in several zones. I'd love to be able to tag the so many of the scattered NPCs and have them in a list posted to or linked on the "good faction" pages. I mostly tradeskill these days, but when I want faction of any sort, I'm the type to attempt to grind it out in short order, so it seems like it might be useful for adventure factions too. For the first bit, I'm not really sure. They're not NPCs, they're more like interactive objects but we don't have a template for such things. With that said, we do have "Inanimate Object" as a race for NPCs, so I've just changed it to that as sort of the best fit for this odd case.

For your second question, you can always add "The Far Seas Trading Company" under faction to the NPCs, then they'll show up in Category:The Far Seas Trading Company NPCs at least. The way factions are handled here on the wiki is very old and inflexible and could use a revamp, but at minimum just adding them as being that faction gets them in that category. --lordebon (talk) 18:02, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Admin Needed - Darkblade clarification

Hi Admins!

I would like to clarify that all the "Darkblade" items showing up on the Category:Admin Needed page do not require Admin assistance. They all link to the single forearm (Inexorable Bracers) redlink and AdminNeeded tag located on the Darkblade's Citadel (Armor Set) page. If Bracers can be changed to the singular Bracer and the "Admin Needed" tag removed, then all the other Darkblade items should disappear. Sorry for the confusion! (Talk) 17:10, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Fixed. The armor set page is actually calling Template:DoV_Inexorable_Sets_Drops_Scout which has the table with that info in it, so that's where the edit was needed. Anything in {{Double Brackets}} is a template call to "Template:Double Brackets" (unless there's a : in the double brackets, in which case it doesnt add Template: and just calls whatever is inside). Rename or delete req

Hi there! I uploaded EQ2IconTreasuredEvilEyeBag.png and since noticed that I really could have done a better job naming the file. Unfortunately, it seems I can't rename or delete the file now that it's there. I'd like to rename it something along the lines of Icon_pouch_02_(Treasured).png so it fits better with the existing naming scheme, but if all we can do is delete it, I'm okay with that. Thanks! I just did it with Category:Fordel Midst: Bizarre Bazaar (Solo) Quest NPCs and works like a charm.

1. copy the text in the second line
2. follow the redlink link in the third line
3. past the text in the category you followed
