VISIONS OF VETROVIA[]

Update Notes - December 1, 2021 - Visions of Vetrovia Launch

Inspired by mystical visions, a crew of explorers, sailing the uncharted waters beyond the Shattered Seas, have found an isolated continent plagued by dark curses and discordant energies. Ruins of an ancient civilization are scattered across the landscape, while the imposing silhouette of an opulent castle rises from the highest point of the land for all to see. Whispers can be heard, in the native villages found along Vetrovia's coast, of its supernatural master and the horrors it contains, but are any of them true? It'll take Norrath's exceptional adventurers and artisans to survive the primal terrors and arcane forces found in Vetrovia's Svarni Expanse, Karuupa Jungle, and Mahngavi Wastes in order to breach the ramparts of Castle Vacrul and help cleanse the land, once and for all! But are we the only ones? Who else has had Visions of Vetrovia?

GENERAL[]

  • If you have the software cursor enabled (under User Interface - Cursor in the options), you can now choose a color tint for the cursor.
  • There is now a new notification on the mini map dial if you have pending items to claim.
  • The Recovery Speed stat has been fully removed from game and replaced with either ability reuse reduction, or ability casting time reduction. Note, spells still have a default recovery speed of 0.5 seconds, this change does not remove that effect, it removes the stat that modifies recovery speed.
  • Bonus Prestige Points can now be earned in both Reign of Shadows and Visions of Vetrovia content. These have been renamed so that they are no longer specific to a source, for example "Reign of Shadows Prestige Collection Depths of the Darkside" rewarded from the Depths of the Darkside collection is now named simply Bonus Prestige Point 02, and can be earned either from the Depths of the Darkside collection, or from a Visions of Vetrovia source. You still cannot earn the same reward multiple times, so if previously earned, you will not receive that reward again.

REFORGING[]

  • Reforging stats on equipment has been removed. Decorations may still be applied to equipment.

INFUSION[]

  • Visions of Vetrovia and all future items will no longer be able to be infused. Infusers that were obtained in game will be replaced with temporary adornments. Infusers obtained from other methods will not change, but will only function on items previously flagged as infusible.

MERCENARIES[]

  • Mercenaries have had some quality of life additions made to them to make using and finding them somewhat easier.
    • The Mercenary Search button on your mercenary character window will allow you to see what zones available mercenaries can be found in and, in most cases, a button to get a waypoint once you are within their respective zone to hire them.
    • The battalion buff gained from mercenaries has been made available for you to see in the bottom left of the mercenary character window.
    • Healer mercenaries should now be able to check line of sight when on uneven surfaces, allowing them to more easily cast resurrection spells and heals without being blocked by small objects.
    • Mercenary Battalion: Dwarven Battlerage and future Mercenary Battalion spells have been consolidated to grant the same stats, regardless of mercenary type you choose to use.

GUILDS[]

  • Status rewards from repeatable quests will now contribute to guild status for guilds above level 100.

ZONES AND POPULATION[]

  • Nektulos
    • Shady Swashbuckler XVIII is now willing to provide a replacement for a disassembled Star Key for those who have completed "The Maidens' Reception" quest, but do not have "A Star to Unlock" quest.

ABILITIES[]

  • General
    • Added an effect to Enhanced Vigor that will give a scaling max hp buff to pets, at a lower rate then is given to player characters.
    • Corrected an issue that prevented effects that limit max damage being dealt to the target from decrementing when the effect triggered, allowing the effect to persist longer then it should. An example of this type of effect can be seen on the Replenishment adornment.
    • Corrected an issue with balanced synergy that could cause the benefits to remain on the target for the buff duration despite it no longer being maintained by all four archetypes.
    • Damage reduction effects that cap damage taken should now correctly display how much damage they cap to. Example "Will cap all damage received to a maximum of 10% of the caster's health." or "Has a 50.0% chance to cap all damage received to a maximum of 10% of the caster's health.", etc.
    • Several stat conversion effects have been updated to grant a scaling stat bonus, since most stats scale at very different paces from expansion to expansion. Due to this, players with high potency levels may see a drop a max hit points from the change to Enhanced Vigor, while players with lower potency values will see a rise in max hit points.
    • The base increase for abilities above level 121 has been set at 35%. This means that most abilities when they increase from their previous tier will increase by a base value of approximately 35%, before any other modifiers such as spell tier or modifying abilities or effects.
    • Updated Accuracy from Strength to base its bonus on being in combat, instead of checking for a recently cast spell.
    • Updated all effects that state they modify profession abilities, spells, or combat arts to not apply to item granted effects.
    • Updated Balanced Synergy to provide a scaling stat benefit through all levels it is available at.
    • Updated Enhanced Vigor to give a scaling max hp buff instead of a stat conversion from crit bonus to max hp.
    • Updated Modified Strength to give a scaling ability modifier buff instead of a stat conversion from primary attribute to ability modifier.
    • Updated Power from the Soul to base its bonus on being in combat, instead of checking for a recently cast spell.
    • Updated Vitality to Strength to base its bonus on being in combat, instead of checking for a recently cast spell.
    • Updated Weapon of the Mind to give a scaling weapon damage buff instead of a stat conversion from weapon damage to potency.
    • When a dispel is applied to a maintained effect on a target, it will now dispel the maintained spell from the caster. For example, if a group member casts a group buff affecting the entire group, if any member of the group has that effect dispelled, the spell is also dispelled from the caster and thus all group members.
    • Increased the damage scaling above level 120 for the following abilities, and triggered effects. This is separate from the base 35% scaling level increase.

    • Beastlord
      • Beastsoul will increase flurry and flurry multiplier when cast above level 120.
      • Callous Ferocity will now scale its flurry increase at higher levels and will increase flurry multiplier when cast above level 120.
      • Feral Stance will now scale its fervor increase at higher levels.
      • Hawk Eyes will now scale its crit bonus and potency increase at higher levels.

      • Updated group reactive heals so that they no longer expires when a single target consumes all triggers.
    • Coercer
      • Corrected a the stacking flag for Enraging Demeanor, it should now provide all of it's listed statistic bonuses when cast.
      • Enraging Demeanor will now increase at level 121
      • Increased the scaling of the Fervor overcap and crit bonus overcap granted by Lethal Focus at higher levels.
      • Increased the scaling of the Fervor overcap, crit bonus overcap, and crit bonus granted by Enhance: Mind's Eye at higher levels.
      • Peaceful link will no longer apply hate reduction to fighters.
      • Signet of Intellect will grant ability doublecast when cast above level 120.
      • Velocity will now increase at level 123.
    • Crusader
      • Crusader's Judgement will also cure hostile effects from the caster.
      • Decreased the base reuse time of Divine Aura from 300 to 210.
      • Fearless Morale will now apply its fear immunity to the group.

      • Corrected an issue with Spiritual Ally that prevented it from applying to the pet.
    • Deity
      • Final Judgment will no longer critically apply or be modified by the casters stats.
    • Dirge
      • Updated Battle Cry to give a scaling potency buff instead of a stat conversion from multi attack to potency.
    • Elementalist
      • Removed the level reduction effect from Glacial Freeze. Encounters that depended on this effect have been adjusted.
    • Enchanter
      • Aura of Power may now only trigger once every 6 to 12 seconds.
      • Removed the max trigger count of Aura of Power.
    • Fighter
      • Boneshattering Combination, Earthshock, and Vital Trigger will no longer terminate at four increments, and will instead no longer be able to be cast until the buffs have been removed, at which point their cooldown will begin.
      • Boneshattering Combination, Earthshock, and Vital Trigger will no longer increment multiple times due to double casts, but will still double cast the damage components of the abilities.
    • Guardian
      • Guardian and Intercept are now on separate reuse groups, but you may not cast Guardian on a target under the effects of Intercept, nor cast Intercept on the target of Guardian.
      • Updated Focused Offensive to also grant flurry multiplier.
      • Updated Measured Blows to remove an double reduction in ability double cast.
      • Updated Stalwart Wall to give a scaling max hp buff instead of a stat conversion from crit bonus to max hp.
    • Inquisitor
      • Added a Flurry and Flurry Multiplier increase to of Tenacity versions above level 110.
      • Adjusted the Weapon Damage increase of Tenacity to scale better at higher levels.
      • Alleviation has been made uninterruptible.
      • Arch Healing has been made uninterruptible.
      • Bestowal of Vitae has been made uninterruptible.
      • Bestowal of Vitality has been made uninterruptible.
      • Chilling Invigoration has been made uninterruptible.

ITEMS[]

  • All Adornments are now no-value.
  • Damage conversion items, such as the Embrace of Frost will now override the targets auto-attack damage type, including ranged damage from ammo, as well as apply an effect that modifies pet damage.
  • Energy Inverters are now tradeable, and cannot be resisted.
  • Equipped items that are used to cast a persistent effect will now drop if the item is flagged REQUIRES-EQUIP. All adornments by default have the REQUIRES-EQUIP flag, items that have an adornment will inherit the REQUIRES-EQUIP flag from the adornment.
  • Item adornments can no longer be applied while in combat.
  • Items with "Kiteshield" in the name have been renamed to have "Kite Shield" instead.
  • Shadowed Ethereal Trackers will be rewarded from some Visions of Vetrovia weekly missions.
  • Starting with Visions of Vetrovia, familiar stats will increase at 1% per level, down from 5%.
  • Thadampos will sell Heirloom items to adventurers who achieve certain triumphs.
  • Updated Guild Buff to give a scaling crit chance buff instead of a stat conversion from crit chance to crit chance.
  • Updated Rechanneled Fire to give a scaling potency buff instead of a stat conversion from crit bonus to potency.
  • Fighter Wary Protection Effect
    • Visions of Vetrovia Tower shields, brawler defensive fist weapons, and defensive two handed crushing weapons have had the Wary Protection effect added to them that will prevent a portion of the damage a fighter takes while they are under that effect. This effect scales with the tier of the weapon, which will be displayed in the description of the Wary Protection effect.
    • This bonus will be most effective in the content that the shield was acquired from, or previous content, and will have a lessened effect in future content. For example, if a Reign of Shadows shield provides mitigation in Reign of Shadows, it will provide that same mitigation in all expansions previous to Reign of Shadows, but it will provide significantly less mitigation within Visions of Vetrovia encounters. Monks will benefit from the same type of bonus based off of the highest value of their equipped primary, secondary, or two handed weapon, but at a 50% reduction.
    • This effect will not apply to non-fighter classes.

HOUSING[]

  • House Actors may now be set to the Vah Shir race if the owning account has the Vah Shir race feature.
  • The carpenter-made Vacrul Double Chandelier, Vacrul Quadruple Chandelier and Unlit Vacrul Chandelier will anchor incorrectly on the floor until a future patch. The Elaborate Forlorn Wall Sconce will place sideways in the wall until that same time. Any of these items that are made before that time will automatically be fixed at that time.

TRADESKILLS[]

  • Captain Ethan Darani is looking for skilled crafters willing to accept short-term job offers in Vetrovia. Crafters that are level 120 and own the Visions of Vetrovia expansion should check their in-game email for details and the offer. This will start you on the Were Is the Messenger tradeskill signature line. Should you somehow lose the mail or delete it, Jerol in the Village of Shin should be able to give you a fresh copy of the offer.
  • Daily and weekly tradeskill missions will be offered by Renfry and Igore in Renfry's Basement to those crafters who have completed the Were is the Messenger tradeskill signature line.
  • Crafters rejoice! Tradeskill fuel stack sizes have been increased from 200 to 800 fuel per stack.
  • Hulda Flintbraid now checks to make sure a player is a level 120 crafter before offering them "The Delineation of Method" Reign of Shadows tradeskill signature line.
  • Tradeskill Blueprints:
    • The tradeskill blueprint system allows players who have completed a recipe at pristine quality to automatically complete the recipe in the future without all the button mashing at a 20% increase to fuel and build components (but not Primary Components) required. Items created with the Blueprint system will not update achievements or quests.
    • To qualify for the blueprint system the character must meet the following requirements:
    • Have completed the “Which Were, Where?” achievement. (Which is obtained by completing the Were Is the Messenger line).
    • Have membership.
    • Be Tradeskill level 125.
    • And as previously stated, have already completed the recipe at pristine quality.
    • To make use of the blueprint system, simply select the Blueprint checkbox on the recipe window, and press begin.

While it may be a bit disappointing to not have them available on release day, the raid council has made it clear that the added time to let things settle will help make the raid content more solid and a whole lot more fun not having to deal with any launch day issues going around.
