In addition to wizard spells these guys have a direct power damage ability, Mana Drain, that procs automatically once every 10 seconds real time for ~700 power. If you get swarmed by these things - which is a distinct possibility as they're very social and can be hard to spot up in the ceiling - it can add up fast.
