The combines for this timeline are long. Without potions they take 2-3 minutes each. Plan accordingly.
As of December of 2023, most of the mobs are not aggro. The Mistresses are still aggro, as well as the sleeping dragon, still have to crouch to get safely by to harvest your imp poo. The skeletons from which you harvest your marrow are not aggro (but obviously not harvestable when they are awake). The hate mongrel guarding the teleporting device (to the ledge for ore harvesting) did not appear to be aggro, but I did not mess around and find out when I ran the quest. There seems to be a single other aggro mob in the whole zone, a construct of spite, roaming on the eastern bridge leading to the dragon, in addition to the Mistresses of Hate, and the dragon.
Required Materials[]
Bring at least:
- 50 deadly mushroom
- 100 golden ember
- 50 nightmare cichlid
- 50 rock fern
- 100 storm stalk
- 1 strand of ether (rare)
- 25 Celestial Candle
- 125 Celestial Coal
- 25 Celestial Incense
In addition you will need to harvest in zone:
- 50 blackwood
- 50 charred bone marrow
- 50 dark abhorrent ore
- 50 fiend stool
- 50 red shard of malice
- 50 twisting worms
Steps[]
- Exit to Plane of Magic at ( 94, 3, 161 ) to speak with Druzzil Ro at ( -764, 343, 1093 ) on Valor's Roost.
- Enter Shard of Hate: Eye Spy [Tradeskill] at ( -762, 347, 1044 ) in Plane of Magic (on Valor's Roost, not inside Coliseum of Valor).
- At this point the quest merely tells you to make three components: an Ire-Bound Frame, a Resident Attunement Lens, and a Sensory Delver. You will need to harvest 50ea. of the 6 in-zone materials to create these. All are trackable, but the ore in particular will require a certain amount of subterfuge to get to (details below!).
- Once you have enough materials craft the 3 components on The Fiend Fount at ( 8, 12, 5 ) , then craft the Arcane Ocularum on The Malicious Mixer nearby at ( -17, 14, 10 ) .

- A potion of progress would be very handy for this step!
- Use the Arcane Ocularum on a fiendish attendant flying near ( -199, 18, 9 )
- You will be ported into the fiend's body. Listen to the conversion between the Mistresses of Hate.
- The Ocularum has unlimited charges.
- When the quest updates to "search Nektulus Forest..." exit the zone.
- Travel to Nektulos Forest near the transition to Darklight wood at ( -1347, 17, -1404 ) .
- The quest will update when you get close enough to a wandering hermit.
- Extreme lowbies should beware the level 20 Thexians in the area!
- Speak to the wandering hermit.
- Return to Druzzil Ro in the Plane of Magic. You will earn experience here.
- Speak to Varig Ro in the Coliseum of Valor.
- Speak to Druzzil Ro at ( -4, 6, 4 ) in the Coliseum of Valor.
- Speak to Erollisi Marr at ( -102, 0, 25 ) . She will give you Silvered Heart and Recipe for Erollisi's Favor which will autoscribe.
- Obtain the following:
- Craft Erollisi's Favor on any Elaborate Work Bench (summoned work bench works as well) which requires:
- Return the favor to Varig Ro in the Coliseum of Valor
Harvesting in The Shard of Hate[]
You will need:
- 50 twisting worms - harvest from soiled mound nodes scattered all about the zone.

- 50 charred bone marrow from a resting pain bringer.

- These are the non-aggro stage of the skeletons (painbringers) walking around The Abbey ( -205, 14, 61 ) and the Rectory of Confession near ( 176, 33, -33 ) . Wait for a pathing skeleton to "collapse", then harvest. Beware of harvesting already-resting painbringers -- they can suddenly get up, and kill you!
- 50 red shard of malice.

- The shards of malice spawn beside the paths and in corners. They flicker between red and blue states.
- Only harvest when they're red! If harvested while blue, 5 of your red shards already collected will be destroyed! (if you have auto-harvesting, turn it OFF)
- The switch between red and blue and vice-versa is always preceded by an unmissable pulsating white-light shimmering of the shard, that lasts a couple of seconds. Plan accordingly but you have ample time to either finish the harvest or stop it even if you stumble on a shard already red.
- 50 fiend stool.

- The stool is dropped by the imp that patrols behind the sleeping dragon near ( -12, 27, -139 )
- Dismount and crouch when walking near the dragon to avoid waking it.
- 50 dark abhorrent ore - from dark abhorrent ore nodes.

- These are up on a ledge, reachable only the teleporter at ( 21, 7, -51 ) . There is a hungry hate mongrel sitting on the pad.
- Pick up the golem body at ( 182, 7, 110 ) and place it at ( -21, 12, -71 ) (look for blue corpse outline). Run to the corner behind the teleporter while the dog sitting on the teleport runs to the body.
- If you don't get far enough away the dog will run right over you and kill you. There is a pathing Construct of Spite to avoid as well. and a mob lurking in the corner. Timing is key!
- Take the now cleared teleport pad at ( 21, 7, -51 ) to the upper ledge to harvest the ore. Watch out for the "wretched tormentor" who paths along the parapet (note : tormentor is not aggro anymore).
- To get down, go toward the edge, there appears to be an invisible stair. Watch for the floating mob, then jump down toward the teleport pad.
- Even better, if you have featherfall, hop up on the parapet, and glide down to the craft stations!

Suggested route: enter the zone; harvest blackwood and worms by the gate while watching the pathing constructs. Note the randomly spawning loathing shadows - these are particularly fond of spawning in apparently-safe corners. Take the path to the left, collecting red shards as you go (there are more along the right-hand path to Wrath's Anvil and the Abbey, but this requires a bit more dodging). Collect the golem body as you go and carry it to the craft stations. You can put it down along the way and it will stay put. Now study the pathing mobs between you, the teleporter, and the platform where the body has to be placed. Choose your moment, pickup the body, carry it to the platform, place it, dive into the corner behind the pad, then onto the pad. Harvest ore, jump up on the parapet, then featherfall back to the crafting stations area. Now head towards the Rectory of Confession, collect the bone marrow, sidle round the edge to the right and down to the sleeping dragon (remember to crouch!). Collect fiend stool, then continue your loop back to the craft stations, collecting backwood and worms as you go if you don't already have your 50.
