Notes[]
- The combines for this timeline are long, without potions they take 2 to 3 minutes each. Plan accordingly, 'Progress Potion' or 'Potion of Innovation' can be considered.
- Summary: First you're making EMDs. Materials to do this must be collected in the junkyard. Make some EMDs and enter the Lab (Where Gears in the Machine ends). Now the goal is to get into the central lab to get the plans. However, the central lab is locked by a combination stored in the disabled bots lying around. Meet Meldrath's ghost in the control room, and repair the Hackbot so it can read the status of the other bots; this will give you the combination to the center room. After all 6 binary bots are found, return to control room, enter combination, go to the central lab, disable the 5 pillars with EMDs, pick up the plans, exit the zone. Talk to NPCs, done.
- Doing this full timeline should get you to level 110 easily. Don't forget to use Adept Hands if needed to restore your vitality before the steps granting experience. Wearing the Mark of the Far Seas, and other items boosting Tradeskill XP like the Censer of Containment and Blessed Coldain Prayer Shawl should also be considered. With XP potions at key points, and/or a few max-level alts in the family, you can get up to level 115 or more.
- In June 2023 the amount of XP given by this timeline was substantially reduced; with the aim of making it more commensurate with levelling from 100 to 110 (rather than the 100 to 122+ formerly possible).
Required Materials[]
Bring at least:
- 100 etherium
- 100 gnarled entwood
- 100 golden ember
- 100 plumewit hide
- 100 storm stalk
- 80 Celestial Coal
- 25 Celestial Filament
- (Note: Because this quest is currently buggy, you might want to bring 2 or 3 times this amount for convenience. Materials for each quest changes significantly later on.)
Required Materials for Entire Questline[]
For those who like to stock up ahead of time, you may just want to pick up stacks of 800 each of the common materials (if you have a harvest box). Otherwise, plan on at least:

- 200 etherium
- 150 gnarled entwood
- 250 golden ember
- 50 nightmare cichlid
- 150 plumewit hide
- 50 rock fern
- 150 storm stalk
Rare Materials
Fuel
- 50 Celestial Candle
- 625 Celestial Coal
- 25 Celestial Filament
- 50 Celestial Incense
- 50 Celestial Kindling
Steps[]
- Enter the Coliseum of Valor through the portal at ( -786, 345, 1118 ) .
- Enter Plane of Innovation: Security Measures [Tradeskill] through the portal at ( -94, 3, 164 ) .
- NOTE: The instance is filled with level 110 mobs including several Epic walkers. As of the June 13, 2023 patch, these mobs are no longer aggro.
- Speak to Meldrath the Marvelous at ( -76, -8, 95 ) .
- Harvest the following: (The nodes can be tracked with Track Harvestable but you don't really need it as they can be easily seen on and around all of the big piles of junk. They also respawn quickly. Reminder: the flying bots are not aggro. The standing ones are.)
- 10 coiled springs
- 10 length of conductive wire
- 10 power nodes
- Craft an Electric Manaetic Device (EMD) on an innovative workstation at ( -114, 6, -156 ) or ( 240, 3, -165 ) .
- The western station (in Xanomech's Shell) is easier to get to. Just slip behind the mob in front of the door to the Guarded Causeway when it paths away.
- Each combine (which taken to Pristine yields 10 EMDs) requires:
- 10 storm stalk
- 10 coiled spring
- 10 length of conductive wire,
- 10 power node
- 25 Celestial Coal
- The EMDs drain power when placed near robots and disable them. They will also drain your power and can be destroyed when they've done their job. Mobs stay down once zapped.
- The mobs are no longer aggro as of the June 13, 2023 patch. It is not necessary to disable them anymore.
- You need to reserve five EMDs for the last room. You can craft more than the required 10, but you shouldn't need more than that.
- Speak to Meldrath the Marvelous at ( 23, 21, -285 ) .
- The door at ( 71, 4, -89 ) or ( 10, 4, -122 ) will get you to the back room.
- Proceed through the door that opens behind Meldrath the Marvelous and head to his new location at ( 30, 3, -564 ) .
- There are two levers at the end of the hallway at ( 25, 7, -354 ) , used to (temporarily) deactivate the steam vents in the east and west halls. Walking through these hallways without pulling the lever results in instant death.
- After pulling a lever, wait for the red circles and bubbles to dissipate before proceeding down that hall. Watch your chat window for updates on the safety of hallways. If you know the Tik-Tok language, the levers tell you they will reset in 30 sec.
- There are matching levers at West ( 93, 7, -343 ) and East ( -43, 8, -342 ) to pull when going into the hallways from the opposite directions.
- Speak to Meldrath the Marvelous in the Control Room at ( 30, 3, -564 ) to receive Retrofitting Blueprint.
This step gives tradeskill XP- Note: there was formerly a intermittent bug that prevented some people from using the control console wheels (in Step 13 below). This hasn't been seen for some time so presumably has been fixed; but if you want to be sure, right click a console wheel before you craft the parts for the Hackbot 3000. If you can't "examine" it the bug has recurred and you will need to reset the zone.
- Craft the replacement chassis, circuitry and gears for the Hackbot 3000.
- To do this you will need to collect a Chassis shell, Shorted circuitry and Misshapen gears.
- The Chassis shell is at ( -63, -3, -460 ) in the corridor leading to the East Factory Floor.
- The Shorted circuitry is in the West Conduit Vestibule at ( 106, -6, -424 ) .
- The Misshapen gears are in Westforge at ( 150, 4, -424 ) .
- Craft the three replacement parts items on an innovative workstation (looks like an anvil). There is one in Westforge at ( 160, 4, -424 ) next to the Misshapen gears you just picked up; and another in Eastforge.
- The chassis combine requires:
- 1 chassis shell
- 50 golden ember
- 50 gnarled entwood
- 50 plumewit hide
- 25 Celestial Coal.
- The gears combine requires:
- 1 misshapen gears
- 50 golden ember
- 50 etherium
- 50 gnarled entwood
- 25 Celestial Coal
- The circuitry combine requires:
- 1 shorted circuitry
- 50 etherium
- 50 storm stalk
- 50 plumewit hide
- 25 Celestial Filament.
- Return to ( 18, 3, -565 ) and right-click to install the crafted components on Hackbot 3000.
- Summon Hackbot 3000. (will be in your knowledge book Abilities if it hasn't landed in a hotbar).
- Now that Hackbot 3000 is following you, when you approach a Binary Control Bot (looks like a disabled robot sitting on the floor), the robot will declare its status as true or false.
- The bots are ID'd 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 using Roman numerals: I, II, IV, VIII, XVI, XXXII (or, if you like, numbered 0 to 5)
- If you right-click the Hackbot 3000 and select 'Check Status" it will report the True/False responses for each bot in chat.
- Bots can be tracked, and are located at
- Binary Control Bot XXXII: northern end of the eastern corridor ( -48, -7, -490 ) --> "first" access code
- Binary Control Bot XVI : western corridor ( 85, -7, -463 ) --> "second" access code
- Binary Control Bot VIII : Westforge ( 127, -3, -361 ) --> "third" access code
- Binary Control Bot IV : West factory floor ( 189, -3, -495 ) --> "fourth" access code (mind the Epic in the corridor!)
- Binary Control Bot II : Eastforge ( -92, 4, -444 ) --> "fifth" access code
- Binary Control Bot I : East factory floor ( -132, -3, -513 ) --> "sixth" access code
- Suggestion: start with the western corridor bot, then do an anticlockwise lap of the zone. OR: 16-8-4-2-1-32(XVI,VIII,IV,II,I,XXXII)
- Don't forget to turn off the steam pipes each time you go up and down these halls. They don't stay off for very long.
- Return to the Control Room ( 18, 3, -565 ) . Right-click and examine the geared wheels on the control consoles for each terminal. If the bot with the same ID said "true" then turn clockwise, otherwise, leave it alone.
- The terminals are numbered 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 starting on the far left.
- You can right-click your hackbot at any time to recheck the true/false responses.
- When all are correct: 'You hear a rubbing against metal, as a door opens in the distance!'
- Exit the control room and go to ( 24, -7, -466 ) .
- Place an EMD on the gold spot in front of each of the 5 pillars. Do NOT enter the red force field.
- Each one you place will give the message 'The EMD has disabled one of the defenses in the main room. There are "x" left to disable'
- Collect Meldrath the Malignant's Contraption Schematics at ( 20, -5, -377 ) .
- Return to Druzzil Ro ( -5, 6, 3 ) in the Coliseum of Valor (an exit portal opens in the center of the room at ( 24, -7, -411 ) when you pick up the schematics).
- Speak to Varig Ro (a roamer in this zone) in the Coliseum of Valor. He wanders the outer ring. Look for the book on your map.
- This step gives tradeskill XP {at TS level 100, 8,279,054xp; not counting bonuses}
